"What's wrong old man, your wife left you?"

I hear distant laughs.

I turn the corner to see three boys tossing around an old mans stuff. The frail old man sat on the ground afraid to do anything. I could tell he was scared.

"Hey! Put his stuff down!" I yelled, running over and instantly regretting it.

The three guys looked like your usual thugs. One had a scar on his cheek, wearing a black hat, ragged black jeans and a dirt black coat.

The others were wearing about the same thing. By his posture, I could tell the one with the nose piercing and pimples on his cheek was the leader.

"What'd you say girl?"

The leader turned towards me and pulled out a gun. I couldn't think, so I said the first thing that came to mind.

"I said to put his stuff down morons!"

I didn't know what I was thinking yelling at a guy with a gun. The old man just sat there staring at me.

"I think you should shut your mouth girly!" he exclaimed.

"My name isn't girly it's Sian!"

We were in an alleyway so I don't think anyone could see what was going on, but even if they did they wouldn't help, no one wants to be in this situation.

"Look, just put down the gun and walk away, If you shoot me you'll go to jail," I said, putting my trembling hand out.

"Jail? That's nothin man!"

Acting on impulse, I sprinted over to the "boss" who was looking at his feet and thinking about his next move. He quickly glanced up at me. I could tell I caught him by surprise. I kicked the gun out of his hand before he could pull the trigger. Both of his followers knew to back up.

"HOW SHE DO THAT BOSS!" one of the followers yelled.

The leader was mad. The old man had no expression on his face. The bosses two pets were sweating. I'm kind of glad that my mom made me take Karate when I was 14 .

"We're not scared of a little girl!" the leader stated, clenching his fist.

He was obviously lying, because besides the clench of his fists, he was all sweaty.

His followers were intimidated and waiting for him to give a command.

            "Let's go!" the boss yelled.

The leader lifted his foot attempting to round house kick me. I froze. His two followers ran behind me. I didn't know what to do. No wait, I did. I grabbed the leaders foot and tried to throw him into his comrade, but I was too weak. I immediately stumbled backwards. The leader fell on top of me.

"Oof!"

The chubby one of the group snatched the gun from the ground.

Did I get shot? Yep. Everything after that was...a blur.
