CHAPTER 13
Ivy's POV:
Ivy's parents had come home looking exhausted. They had told her all about their incredible cruise and how they had hoped that their two daughters had been there with them. The sea sickness her father claimed he had during the last night of the cruise must have affected him terribly because he had even promised to take the whole family out once Ivy had passed all her exams and was ready to "party". They hadn't been out together in a long time and Ivy might have been excited about the idea- she couldn't wait to spend time with her sister- except that her father mentioned her passing all her exams and she was reminded about the heavy burden of potentially disappointing him. All she could do though was smile and be content in front of them because she knew they wouldn't understand or accept her. She had to be an exceptional child; the child of their dreams.
...
"Miss Moore is there something particularly interesting outside that window?" Mrs Thomas asked snapping Ivy out of her thoughts. "Uh, no Miss sorry," she replied cringing on the inside because of all the eyes that had suddenly turned on her at the back of the classroom. "Good, pay attention please," Mrs Thomas turned back to the Interactive smart board and continued to explain the endless chemistry information. Ivy had always been interested in the subject. Even though her career path didn't involve any crucial knowledge from chemistry she had wanted to take it anyway. She had even been lucky enough to have her favourite teacher teach her and was usually very attentive, especially in chemistry.
It was Friday, she was tired from her overly dramatic week and wanted serious rest except that wasn't what she had been distracted by the whole day. Her thoughts always seemed to have been stolen by the fact that Harry Styles might be, as he said, at the BC joint again today and she was the one whom he wanted to be served by. Of course judging by what Tina had shown her he might not be as kind and down to earth as he had shown her in their short encounter. She had been at war with herself the whole day, half of her wanting to believe that the media was just portraying him the way they wanted to and that he really did care about her and the other half criticized her for even believing that Harry styles would ever think twice about her.
The last period bell rang and she crept out into the hallway and made her way to her locker where she met up with Tina. "Hey babe, why do you look like how you're supposed to look on Monday?" Tina asked cheerfully stacking her books and readying her bag. "Tina do you think Harry would be there tonight?" Ivy asked leaning against her locker when she finished packing her bag. Tina looked at her with a quizzical look on her face, "hmmm, I don't know. But what I do know is that I am going to be there because if he does I wouldn't believe it unless I see it; its way beyond that boy's character to keep a deal."
Tina stopped by her house to grab a change of clothes and then went back to study at Ivy's before they both took the bus to the infamous BC joint.
Harry's POV:
Harry visited many coffee shops that day. It was a great way to travel around Sydney but he mainly did it to pass the time quickly so that he could go back to the BC joint that night and fulfill his side of the bargain. He didn't want to admit it but it was there in the back of his mind, he wanted to see the waitress, Ivy's, smile again and just talk to her. He had no idea why and it was stupid of him since their encounter was very brief but it really did affect him when she became flustered by the attention. He would probably feel differently tomorrow after he eats there and pushes the whole situation aside.
Wearing his ever present leather jacket made him even more noticed by fans all over his traveling destinations so he made sure to seem extra careless. He was going to let his act down tonight and so he didn't want to do it too much in one day.
He drove off by himself to the restaurant again at the same time they had the first time he had ever been there. People usually expected his leather jacket so this time he wore a white sweater with the sleeves rolled up- showing some of his tattoos- and tight jeans with his fedora hat so that he could keep a low profile not wanting many people to notice his character differences. He walked through the door and was greeted by the receptionist with a bright smile. "Welcome back, is it just one tonight?" she asked formally.
"Yes, thanks and it would be great if not many people found out that I was here tonight," he told her.
"Not a problem, would you like me to escort you to a table?" she asked.
"No, its ok I can find my way," he said and walked past her lowering his head to the seat he was sat at the first time thankful that it wasn't taken. He made it unnoticed through the sparsely populated restaurant and waited for a waiter to walk up to his table. Hoping it would be her.
Ivy's POV:
Tina rang Ivy's cell from her spot on one of the tables in the restaurant. From what Billy had seen he concluded that Tuesdays incident was just an accident and didn't say anything but Ivy wasn't going to risk another phone call from Tina to get her messed up again. After serving two customers their meal she walked over to patiently waiting Tina. "What was the call for?" Ivy asked when she reached her table. "Guess who just walked in. I'd know him anywhere. I can't believe it and he looks like a normal person; not like a hunk of bad boy hotness as usual," Tina gushed.
Ivy was taken aback and couldn't believe that he was actually there. He had come just like he said he would. She reminded herself that she couldn't get her hopes up. He probably just felt bad for her; felt only pity. "Where'd he sit?" Ivy asked.
"Back there," Tina pointed behind Ivy to the back of the restaurant and Ivy slapped her hand.
"Don't point," she said. Tina laughed.
"Tell me everything that happens," she said and Ivy turned and walked slowly towards the truly present Harry.
Harry's POV:
"You came."
Harry turned his head away from the wall and looked at the person that just appeared at his table. She had her blonde tipped hair tied up in a pony tail and was looking at him with undeniably beautiful hazel eyes. "I said I would," he replied an unstoppable smile creeping onto his face. He held out his hand for her to shake. She let out a laugh that Harry couldn't help but want to hear again and her small hand shook his. They both stopped and looked at each other for a second before they let go. Every time Harry saw her she reminded him a little bit more of the girl he danced with in the club. But they couldn't be the same person. She grinned and said, "Yes, you did. What can I get you?"
"Uhmm I really don't know. What's the best..." he stopped, cut short by her terribly hidden giggle, "What's so funny?" he asked with a smile. She dropped her hand from her mouth, "nothing, sorry what were you asking?"
"No, tell me," he prompted.
"How you say um, your accent is cute. Sorry I'm not usually this cocky um..." she said shyly which just made Harry stare adoring her innocence. "No no, Uhmm thanks I guess." And then they both laughed.
"Um," she emphasized the word, "I guess the best thing here would be the beef so anything beef related." Harry looked at the menu and Ivy rattled on, "But I don't know your taste so just choose whatever you like, because there are so many things..." Harry cut her off. He liked having her company. He didn't know why but so far she seemed like the perfect person to talk to.
"Well whatever I do choose, I don't think I can eat alone," he hinted. She raised her eyebrows and pursed her lips.
"Oh is there someone else you're waiting for?"
"I was hoping she could take a break and have a seat actually but she hasn't told me yet," he said looking straight at her.
"Oh, well." She looked around, possibly for the time because her eyes rested on the clock on the wall two seats behind them then looked back at Harry. "Actually yes she can. My 20 minute break starts in 10 minutes. I'll get your food and come sit."
"Great, do you like the beef ribs? The plate seems huge, for the both of us?"
"That's my favorite, you know me so well from the past 5 minutes," she joked and they both laughed. Harry decided then that yes, she was going to be something special.
