It's not that Kozel didn't like the scene and responsibility that was sprawled out for him.
This wasn't his first party he's been to, and not the first underage drinker he's seen. But it was definitely his luck getting stuck with caring, or, well, trying to care for Daron, because a few of the others who had tagged along had left, and a few said they weren't going to take responsibility for Daron. Alistair wanted to leave early for whatever reason, so Drew, reluctantly, agreed to go home with Alistair, Kait leaving with them. Kozel wasn't really sure why Alistair went to the parties, he never looked comfortable and always hid in a corner or stuck to Drew or sometimes Kait when she was there and Drew was out of sight, no where to be found (but Kozel really can't say much, since he sticks to corners as well, quite a few people can't be trusted he found through experience).
So, with no one else there or willing to take Daron, because God and everyone knows that he can't drive home, or walk home and not get pulled over by a patrolling cop and get stuck at the police station, Kozel decided to do it. Besides, he had a driving permit that was going to waste because he mostly walked everywhere, or got a ride from his sister, since he wasn't very confident behind a steering wheel.
Either way, they were really the last two of the gang there, and to leave, because someone didn't exactly want to leave, and then had to go to the bathroom, which really shouldn't have taken ten minutes. That delayed the blonds' take off, since Kozel wanted to go make sure Daron was fine, and just stalling because he didn't want to go. Turns out, he was having a hard time buttoning his pants. And he needed a little assistance with that.
After that mishap of a few others, Kozel finally persuaded Daron to go, Daron smuggling a few cans of cheap beer out of there only for Kozel to find out once they were in the parking lot.
At first, Kozel was fine with Daron sitting in the front seat, but that changed for Daron wouldn't stop messing with things, and Kozel was already almost at the exit of the lot, before having to pull over and get out, heading to the other side and opening the door, trying to get Daron out.
Expectedly, Daron acted stubbornly, not wanting to get out, saying it was his car anyway, and that he could drive if he wanted to, but Kozel wasn't going to argue with him, and just waited for him to get out. Which, eventually he did, and was ordered to sit in the back. He complied, not very happy about it though. Kozel sighed and then shut the passenger door, and made sure Daron was buckled in the back.
The light blond moved back to the driver's side, and got in, starting the vehicle back up with the keys Daron tossed him while walking to the car, and leaving the lot for, well, not good likely.
While trying to navigate the dark streets, regarding the few street lights and lamp posts, trying to remember how to get to Daron's, Daron unbuckled himself and moved from where he was sitting, and scooted to the left side, leaning against the front seat and slinging his arms around it, which rested against Kozel's chest. It startled Kozel, just a little, and at first he hadn't even realized the contact and who it was, but when it did sink in, a light pink dust that would never be seen shaded his face.
Daron began to mess with Kozel's hair, claiming that "it was soft like a sheep", Kozel only brushing it off, or at least the best he could, and tried to concentrate on driving. And eventually, after asking questions and getting a few half true answers, he figured out where Daron lived and arrived to his destination. Kozel let out a breath he didn't know he was even holding.
Kozel got out, stepping onto the driveway. No other cars were there, that he could see, if there even would be any. It didn't look like there were any lights on, so he just hoped that no one was home.
