Chapter 2; I promise

I was excited for Luce and James to get here, I decided that today would be the day I would tell Lucy I liked her. I saw the car pull up and I shot out out of my chair banging my shin on the way, which hurt, but I ignored it as all I could think about was Lucy.

I ran straight up to her and welcomed her in to a big hug

"HI LUCE! Shit, practically screaming in her face

"HI CON!" she yelled back causing shivers up my spine as she stroked my arm.

"I want to show you something, come with me" I took her hand leading her up go my room, we sat on my bed and Luce looked at me confused

"Con why are we in here? what did you want to show me?" I didn't want to show her anything, well apart from the fact that I liked her. I kissed her, and she kissed me back which I suppose is always good. Damn I really liked her "James told me you liked me and I guess I just wanted to tell you I liked you too I just didn't know how so I thought I'd tell you like that"

She smiled at me, god she was perfect Lucy didn't say anything just smiled, so I kissed her again, each kiss we shared got more passionate, more intense than the last and somehow I found my self of top of her. I really liked Lucy but it didn't want her to think I was gonna, you know make a move, not like that, not now, so I kissed her re-assuring her that i only wanted to kiss her.

"Luce? Con?" I heard James making his way up to my room making us both jump up and bang a little, which James being James, will have taken completely wrong. I thought James had gone so I kissed Lucy again and then he stormed in so we pulled away as quick as we could.

"Come on con, practise is starting now, wait are you guys together?" Good question James, were we together? I wanted to be so I just said yeah with a hint of curiosity as I looked a Lucy, she replied

"Yeah" and smiled.

Once James finished his 'aw' session he went downstairs, I followed behind him but I needed to talk to Lucy first.

"I'm glad you said yes Luce, I've been wanting to ask you out for ages, and I know that was a pretty shit way to ask so I'll try it again, Lucy White will you be my girlfriend?"

"Oh mr ball I would love to be your girlfriend!" she replied.

We stood up and she wrapped her arms round my neck, mind round her waist, she smiled at me before I crashed my lips on to hers, nothing else mattered in the world apart from me and her. But as the kiss developed I realised I had to go down to the band.

"Shit" I pulled away from her,

"What am I really that bad?" she winked

"No you're perfect but I've got to go practise, I'll be 20 mins tops, wait here" and I ran off leaving her.

James had told me she'd been going through a lot but swore to secrecy he wouldn't tell anyone, I wanted Luce to know she could open up to me, I mean I know she trusted me I knew something's about her and what had happened, but apparently I don't know all the bad stuff. Great now I was really worried. All I can think about are the possible things shed done, had she hurt herself? Tried to end her life? I can't be thinking of things like this, I need to know for certain what happened before I jump to conclusions.

"Guys now this is over I'm going to tell you, me and Lucy are going out" I stood and waited for their reactions, they were all pretty much the same

"Well it's about time" brad patted me on the back.

"James can I talk to you?" He suddenly looked worried.

"Con what's up?" he furrowed his eyebrows at me and took my shoulder.

"It's Lucy, I know she's not okay, and I want her to know I'm here for her, she's upstairs now and I'm going to tell her she can tell me everything, James I just want to be here for her, I know you know what's happened because you're her best mate and all, but I just can't stand the thought of her upset, and I've got all these horrible things going through my head and I just want to be with her and kiss her and tell her it's all going to be okay, but first, I need to know what happened." James stood there, I'd never seen him cry before but I think I was about to. A tear rolled down his face "Con she really really likes you, and she needs you go find her and you make her tell you everything, do you hear me? Everything!" He wiped away his tears and hugged me.

"Thanks James"

"She's lucky to have you Con and she needs you ok."

I knew what I had to do to help her so I went back to my room to see my perfect girlfriend laid on my bed.

"Hey you" I laid down next to her placing a kiss on her lips and taking her hand.

"Hi" she giggled as our fingers laced together.

"Luce I want you to tell me everything, and I mean everything, I know some stuff but I want I help you out as much as I can, and I can't do that if I don't know can I? So please open up to me, you know I'm here" I pleaded squeezing her hand.

"Con I- i..." she didn't finish before she was in fluds of tears and she pulled he hands out of mine.

She wiped away her tears and pulled up her sleeves revealing her arms to me. Covered in cuts and scars, exactly as I thought, I couldn't believe it.

"Lucy, I'm always going to be here no matter what" I said re-intwining our fingers "I promise Luce, I won't let anyone hurt you" I pulled her in close as we laid on my bed, her head in my chest, she'd not told me everything but I knew enough to make a start on helping her.

"I love you" I think I heard her mumble from my chest.

"I'm going to make you the happiest you've ever been Luce I promise, starting tomorrow, I'm taking you out and I won't take no for an answer, baring in mind you can't say no because technically were attached now so there" she laughed as she looked at me. "Fine" she flicked her hair and settled back in to my chest. I squeezed her tight and she let out a sigh. This was the beginning of a fresh start for Lucy and I don't care what it takes, I will make her happy.
