Tonight, yet again, the music starts to play. I am being carried by the sweet rythm to the middle of the room, forgetting about everything, leaving it all behind. The silky dress sticking to my frame, the web-like thighs on my legs, everything of it makes me a perfect doll. A perfect bride, perfect wife. My lips curl to a smile as I watch them coming. One after another, taking my hand and leading me through the intoxicating tones of piano, violin and triangle. He chose this song yet again. Why am I letting him still do this? Continuing in this, there's no point in me running. The dress, oh so light, moves instead of me, forcing every step upon me. Take me away, oh prince of mine. Where, only where have you been sealed?
Right foot, then left. Be the perfect princess you have to be. The audience missed you, give them a smile. Yes, those are my bounds. Those stronger than blood are keeping me alive. Give a nice dance, spin in the tones of the soft song. Be like a wind, like an angel, let them touch the icy ocean of your eyes. They want to see. I have to show. My hair falling upon my shoulders, my eyes following the black and white tiles of the floor. A sweet scent fills the hall. Are those my saviours? What am I to do if so? I shall dance more. He would be displeased if I stopped. Laughter rings through my ears. Take me away, oh prince of mine. Where, only where have you been sealed?
There is a stranger, a new face appeared. Soft touch on my arm and yet, here I still stay, dancing with another. The harp continues to make me dance on it's strings. Why have I looked in those eyes? Who is it, holding me now? I don't want anymore. I start getting dizzy of the dance. Lavender hair, standing in my way he pushes them up. Taking my hand, he shows me around these floors I now know better than my own bedroom door. His hand is now on my face. Taking me away from here, he could be. Take me away, oh prince of mine. Have, just now, have you been released?
The white, angelic white, of his hair seems to clear my blurry vision. Have I been crying? These eyes cried so many tears it doesn't even matter anymore. Spinning over the dance floor, in circles dancing away our lives, we are. He is watching. He sees my steps, hesitating. Running away, there would be no point in. Why, oh why have I been brought? Again and yet again, times and times since the very day I was born. A small child in the corner, a beautiful doll in the hall, a perfect princess by her uncle's side, the one and only perfect bride. No other has been left, only two are watching now. Pale red is the one I lock my eyes into. Take me away, oh prince of mine. Have, just now, have you been released?
Lavender hair, lavender dress, the whole world turned and fell into the colour. The faces all blurred and disappeared. Only two of them remain. Both are watching as yet someone else takes my hand and leads me towards a new dance. Hurts, oh how the pain spreads. Not falling, not flying, just dancing as a puppet I am. I shall be a good doll, perfect one too. So he is pleased. I shall promise myself to whoever he agrees with. And yet, where did that one go? The one pulling me off my feet? Where, oh where has he gone now? Is he with another? I've long forgotten his very name... Take me away, oh prince of mine. Where, just where have you gone?
Spinning on the dance floor, giving my hand to yet another man. Name of mine, filthied by all of their lips, rings through the hall. He is calling for me, yet again. The music intoxicates me yet again, bringing me to him. He, I can not dance away from, he now takes my hand. Leads me through the room, showing off with me. Yes, I am a perfect doll. The princess he wishes for. Now I shall be the perfect puppet in his hands, lead by him until the next song and then, yet again, dancing on my strings with yet another prince. Alone, on my own, left foot after right. I've long forgotten my very name... Take me away, oh prince of mine. Where, just where have you gone?
Tonight, yet again, the music starts to play. My dress is no longer tight around me. White and generous. Offering smiles to all around am I. Hearing their whispers now leaves me ignorant. The perfect bride I am, I shall not listen to them. He awaits me at the door, taking my hand for one last time. The broom had been chosen. No longer will I be dancing on the strings he prepared. Only this one last time shall I let him take the lead. Only this one last time will I see him. Avoid the eyes, oh silly puppet, no longer shall I hear. Pick up the glass, no longer shall I follow. Dance for me, oh lovely doll of mine, no longer, not ever. Take me away, oh prince of mine. Just where have you been all this time?
The white gloves slip from his. The one is here. Taking my hand is the one I met before. I've long forgotten his very name, my own too. White is his suit, white is my dress. Red of his eyes and blue of mine, they shall not before long make purple. The perfect bride I am, the perfect wife I shall become. The beauty and grace as he kisses my hand. The one and only man leading me through the dance floor, yet again. The sound of piano ties me no more. The sound of violin has no longer the control over my moves. The ringing of triangle no longer can take him from me. The harp no longer empties my head. Take me away now, oh prince of mine. Just where have you been all this time?
Do you see what I do, oh, dear husband of mine? The land welcomes their princess. The perfect wife, I could not become this time. Daughter is not the child kings want and yet, you remain kind. Is she lovely? She shall be perfect. To bring happiness to this very world, to you and me, to all the people she meets. No longer do I dance on the strings, no longer do I dance with anyone but you. Are you happy now, dear husband of mine? The perfect wife I will be for you. The perfect princess she will be for us. One day, surely, she too will become a perfect bride. Dancing on her own, she shall be strong.
Do you see, oh dear husband of mine? I became your perfect wife now. Giving you a son, I fulfilled your wish. You no longer need me now but you shall keep me by your side. Is he handsome? His eyes are like yours. No longer can I dance now, old woman I've became. Old man, you are too now. You still hold my hand, like these years before. You whisper my name name now. My mysterious prince who's name I've long forgotten. Are you happy now, dear husband of mine? The perfect wife I was for you. The perfect king our son will be for us. One day, surely, he too will become a perfect broom. Dancing on his own as our eyes close.
Tonight, yet again, the music starts to play. Filling the room as it is, I only see you. My mysterious prince, with a mask over your face still. Your eyes have never lost the light. You take my hand and, yet again, lead me through the sad tones of music. Our children down there, we've left them behind. Wings spreading from your back, my perfect angel you've always been. Wings spreading from my own, your perfect angel I've become. The two of us, young and beautiful, dancing on the air, light as feathers, gentle as spring wind. You took me away, my prince. No longer shall I be a doll.
