Crimson Red and Emerald Green

The usual day for Shadow. He would sit by a tree near the park and think. Think about his beloved Maria. Think about the green chaos emerald he took with him everywhere.

Shadow appeared next to the same tree he always sits by. He examined the nearby park, watching as children ran around and people walked their dogs.

He studied a couple kissing casually on a park bench. An unexpected thought came to his mind; Sonic. Sonic the hedgehog. Shadow lightly blushed at the thought, and quickly pushed it away from his mind. He relaxed against the tree, enjoying the shade the tree gave him.

A blue blur sped by, nearly knocking into the unsuspecting Shadow. The blur sped back, and halted in front of him. "Next time watch where you're going, faker!" Shadow scolded the blue hedgehog. Said hedgehog shrugged, and sat next to the other. "My name's Sonic, Shads. Not faker." he told him in a matter-of-factly manner. The red striped hedgie rolled his eyes and relaxed against the tree again, eyes closed.

Sonic unknowingly stared at him. Shadow got the strange feeling of being watched, and cracked an eye open to find the blue hedgie staring at him. "What the hell are you staring at?" he questioned bitterly, blushing lightly. "Oh, I-I was staring?" Sonic asked, a blush painted on his cheeks. Shadow sat up and stared into Sonic's emerald eyes. 'Stop making me love you, faker!' he thought. At least...he thought he thought. Sonic's blush brightened. Shadow covered his own mouth, realizing he had just thought that out loud. "You...love me?" Sonic asked, still quite shocked. Shadow wasn't sure how to answer. He slowly nodded, looking away to hide his own bright red blush and embarrassment. Sonic scooted closer to Shadow and gazed at him. Shadow looked back and returned the gaze. Then suddenly, lips met Shadow's. The blue hedgie was giving him a passionate kiss, and the black hedgie couldn't help but melt into it. The kiss went on for what felt like hours, but in reality was a couple of seconds. They parted. "Heheh...I love you too, Shads." Sonic confessed with a goofy grin.

"Don't call me 'Shads'."

"Don't call me 'faker'!"

Shadow rolled his eyes once more and kissed Sonic again. The blue blur kissed back. "How about I call you 'Shadster'?"

"No."

"Shadinator?"

"No."

"Shadie?"

"Hell no."

"How about...my boyfriend?"

"That'll work."
