Hyunwoo stared in shock as Sihyeon walked into the lounge, with a few suited men in shades following her closely. How did Sihyeon know that I was here?

Kihyun let out a sharp laugh. "We meet again, Red." Hyunwoo looked at Sihyeon in confusion. Red? Is that what my sister calls herself? As she stood beside him, he noticed for the first time, the red cross tattoo behind her left ear. That only meant one thing.

She was part of the Scxrlet gang herself.

No, no, no. This can't be true. Sihyeon can't be part of a gang. Not just any gang, he added, but the gang that was involved in the fatal fight which killed 5.

Although he was disgusted at Sihyeon, having her by his side offered some comfort. At least there's someone who's on my side. He glanced over at Kihyun. He's outnumbered. We actually stand a good chance at this.

Sihyeon took a step forward and pointed a silver handgun at Kihyun. "Put your little toy down and step away from Hyunwoo. Now." She stepped towards Kihyun, her eyes flashing with bitterness.

Hyunwoo watched as Kihyun lowered his gun slowly, and just as he was about to rejoice at their quick success, he noticed that Kihyun's gaze was riveted on something behind them.

He turned around to see the guard from earlier on behind Sihyeon, wielding a metal pole in his hands. Before he could warn Sihyeon, the guard swung the bat down on the back of her head.

"Ah!"

Her hands flew to the back of her head as she collapsed on the floor. "Hyunwoo- " She called out, reaching out to him seconds before she fell into unconsciousness. Sihyeon.

No!

He looked up at Kihyun. "You killed my sister!" He screamed at Kihyun. Kihyun didn't even glance at him. Instead, Hyunwoo watched as Kihyun headed towards the guard before slamming his foot into the guard's ribs.

"You fool! Didn't I specifically say that I would handle this myself?" Kihyun pried the pole from the guard's hands and hit the guard across the face with it. Kihyun flung it aside and kicked the guard in the jaw again before stepping back.

He looked at Hyunwoo with a surprising tenderness in his eyes. "We have to leave now. I'll bring you somewhere safe." Kihyun smoothed his silk shirt down and gestured towards the door.

"I'm not going anywhere with you." Hyunwoo stood at his spot stubbornly. No way he's going to trick me into falling for his other traps. Kihyun crossed his arms. "There isn't no time for you to be stubborn now. I'm helping you stay alive."

Kihyun continued staring at Hyunwoo. Is it just the trick of the light, or is the look in his eyes actually softening? He suddenly felt compelled to obey him. He stepped over the unconscious guard.

He turned to look at his sister for one last time. I'm sorry, Sihyeon. I'll come back for you when it's safer.

Before he could register what was going on, Kihyun had grabbed his wrist and started weaving through the crowd, which had seemed to have grown even denser.

His mother's voice rang in his mind. I hope you know what you're doing, Hyunwoo.

He gritted his teeth.

It's my only way out.
