>you will never wander around the store in mild urgency to grab that last minute gift
>you knew you should have gone earlier but you've been so busy
>the late shifts at the theater are rough, but the return is so worth it
>that's another story, the one thing on your mind right now: Finding the perfect present
>Why is this so hard! You think by this point you'd know enough about her to quickly pick something up and be on your way, seeing as you spend every waking minute of freetime with her
>you dart your eyes back and forth at the merchandise... d-do you get her flowers? U-uhm.. a card?
>you canter about the quaint little shop hoping something will just slap you in the face as "the perfect gift" but no, that's not the case at all
>The shop keeper notices the fret written all over your face
>"Can't find the right one, hmm?" He asks you
>"Unfortunatly.. I don't remember it ever being this hard!"
>He lowers his ears and leans in a bit, speaking in a quieter tone "The best gifts to give, are the ones that aren't only tangible.. but memorable.."
>That makes no sense, of course she'll remember something tangible, she'll always have it!
>you look about the room when all of sudden it hits you... right there...
>The
>perfect
>gift
>you raise a hoof and point in its direction "Th-that one!"
>The shopkeeper raises a brow as he looks where you're pointing before turning back to you with a satisfied smile "Good choice..."
>you race home with the gift in.. mouth? You sure as heck can't carry the bag with your hooves.
>hastily, you open the door to your itsy bitsy cottage that resides next to a small creek
>the house honeslty looks like it's straight out of a fairytale, but in a land full of talking horses, this shouldn't surprise anyone
>you slowly sneak your way to the kitchen where you can see her lounging in a chair by the table
>"mmmpphpmmmsshh!"
>She jumps at your abrupt entrance, dropping the quil in her mouth and raising a hoof to her chest
>"J-jesus christ Bing"
>you drop the gift to the ground for a moment to speak clearly "I've got you a presenttttt~"
>"A-aren't you supposed to wait until tomorrow morning?"
>"Well... 'technically', but this gift can be used whenever~"
>She gives you a confused look "... I like where this is going..."
>you reach your muzzle into the bag to pull it out before she interrupts you in attempts to guess first
>"Is it a year's worth of pears? A subscription to the salon in town? U-uhm... Is it a--"
>You shush her
>she silences herself promplty as you slooooowwwwwly reach your head into the bag again, merely teasing her at this point
>you can see her tremble in anticipation
>One you gripped the gift with your teeth, you freeze
>"Close your eyes"
>she tilts her head at you curiously, but abides, closeing er eyes shut tight
>"and no peeking, Miss."
>"Yeha I figured that much."
>You quickly take out the gift and skitter over to a chair, hopping on top of it to reach the ceiling.
>you manage to pin the gift on the dining room chandelier before hoping down and approaching the other horse in the room
>you grab her flank with your forehooves which elicits a faint gasp from her "B-Bing..."
>"Move forward 4 steps"
>She does so
>"Alright now wait a minute..."
>you trot over to sit in front of her with a big dorky grin before telling her "Open your eyes~"
>Again, she abides and lifts her eyelids to see you smiling like an idiot in front of her
>She stares back blankly for a few moments before electing to speak again
>"If you're trying to get away with making yourself the present because you forgot to by me something... I'd say nice try but 4/10 from me."
>You chortle before darting your eyes up real quick, signalling her to do the same
>She raises a brow but takes the hint, looking up before widening her eyes at what she sees.
>she looks back down toward you with her own dorky smile, staring into your eyes for a few countless moments before leaning in to press her little muzzle to yours
>She likes it...
