JUST GETTING STARTED

i entered the house with music blaring and people laughing and drinking punch,well this house was surely packed till its brim,Austin led me to the dining hall where we got ourselves some punch,my eyes started searching for April like it was my second nature and soon enough i spotted her with white jeans and emerald green top as she made her way through the crowd she smiled widely as she spotted us "hey u guys are here....come on join the fun and oh Shane i want you to meet someone"she grinned at Shane as she pulled a rather disheveled looking girl out of the crowd "Shane meet Emma my second cousin,Emma meet Shane my classmate"she pushed Shane towards Emma as she made the introductions and soon enough they both got lost in the crowd, "well i'm not saying this to anyone in particular but Jess is by the balcony on the first floor"she said winking at Austin. really??? Jessica?? Jessica bishop?? i looked at Austin startled as he blushed a bright red before he stalked off upstairs."well that leaves us both come on i'll introduce you to people"she pulled me into the crowd before waiting for an answer.

she pulled me from group to group making introductions to various number of girls and guys before we both landed up by the foyer under the moonlight,we sat on the steps as we sipped our drinks,and she took the liberty to start the conversation "so how are you liking it so far?" she asked as she leaned back on her hands, "well,so far so good" i said nodding my head, she smiled at me before she shook her head in amusement "what?"i asked her confused "you know i can never seem to get more than 5 to 6 words out of your mouth,do you really not like talking to me that much?"she asked her voice filled with wonder. oh my god is that how it looks,"no no no no" i answer quickly,way too quickly,i wince a little inwardly "no its just that i don't really know what to talk about you know i barely know you that's all" i say as a matter of fact, "fair enough,OK so i play soccer a little bit guitar,and i am practically crazy for movies,ya that's just pretty much me"she states shrugging and she looks at me,oh so it was my turn OK"well i just run tracks from time to time and i love movies too that's just me"i finish quickly,she nods her head "oh i heard you topped math this time Nat got the shock of her life"she says mentioning our class test,"oh ya i like math"  i shrug it off,she stares at me open mouthed,was there something wrong? "what" i ask her nervously,"you just said you like math"she tells me in disbelief,"ya i said that so?"i ask her laughing as the nervousness gets replaced with humor, "wow,you must be really smart"she states shaking her head "why you don't like math?"i ask her trying to keep up the conversation, "well like is too soft a word to describe my feeling for it, HATE is more like it"she says emphasizing on hate, i laugh as i feel myself getting loosened up a bit, "i mean come on isn't it already enough that there are so many numbers but now they wanna bring alphabets in it too? could my life get any worse?"she says in disgust,"come on,you cant be really that bad"i say trying to find a way to compliment her in some way,"oh no no i am downright horrible when it comes to math" she says in a final tone,"i can help you if you like,but then you have Natalie with you she is practically a bullet when it comes to calculus"i say thinking about her abnormally smart friend. "well i really wouldn't mind having another person to clear my doubts" she looks right into my eyes as she smiles,i seem to be carried away looking into her eyes as the usual chill shuddered through me, i snap myself back when she turns away saying"quite chilly isn't it come lets go see what others are up to".and so my magical time with her came to an end.

i soon rounded up the others and before i know it,its time to get back so i call out a few goodbyes to my new found pals thanks to April and i walk out feeling refreshed i inhale the cold air as Austin does the same beside me,Shane seems to have took off earlier god knows where,"so how did you find your first party?" he asks me, "it was great,made new friends,found people with same interests" "spent quality time with ril" Austin interrupts me grinning slyly,"you shouldn't talk,lover boy whats with the Jessica situation?"i ask curiously,Austin falls silent for some time before he says "its a long story how about i fill you in on it tomorrow?"he asks hopefully, i nod smiling at him reassuringly.

i lay on my bed going through my conversation with April smiling like an idiot,its just getting started.
