April knew that Lavina's been homesick and she had tried every possible way to cheer her up. It was a Friday night and as usual she was off to bar. She wanted to take Lavina but really had no hope that she would accompany her in the bar.
"Hey," April went inside Lavina's room. She was on the bed reading some novel.
"What are you reading?"
"Oh, just some romance novel," Lavina sat up straight and gestured April to take a seat next to her.
"Nah, I gotta go," April denied. "You wanna come?"
"Where?"
"Bar."
"Oh. No, thank you."
"Yeah, I really had no expectations. But you know it would be fun. You've been exhausted for the whole week. It'll be a change. You won't feel homesick anymore."
"No, I'm already tired from looking at all the schools and possible job offers. You should go."
"Sure?"
"Positive."
"Fine, but you are going someday."
Lavina sweetly smiled as April exited. She appreciated April's effort to cheer her up but it wasn't working. It's true she has not only been feeling homesick but also heartbroken. She missed those high-school times with her boyfriend and thanksgiving with her family. Each night she would cry herself to sleep. She wanted to go home. But she was here for her job too. She should try applying for a job and maybe after that she can go home if she wants.
"Hey guys," April hugged all her friends. "Got the limo?"
"Of course! On to part-ay!" Everyone cheered on and went to take their seat in the limo. It was a ritual that every Friday night, April with her friends, would go to the bar. It's a way of being close and having fun. Since they're all models they hardly have free time.
"Hey, where's Lisa?" April commented as the limo drove on. Lisa was April's closest friend in the group. Although she would hardly be considered as her 'bestfriend' since they didn't share secrets or anything. They just drank and gossiped. That was friendship for them.
"She would meet us at the bar."
"Oh.
"We're here," the driver replied after a few minuted had passed by.
The girls all got out in an orderly fashion and showed their VIP tickets to the manager in front. They were a usual customer by now it's been a routine.
"Lisa!" April exclaimed as soon as she entered the bar. Lisa was seated on a single stool drinking a glass of cocktail.
"OMG, I missed you so much!" Lisa got up and gave April a tight hug.
"I know! Did you had to go to bahamas for a month?"
"Babe, it was a shoot for some magazine. And it's a step for me to become popular. I'm slowly hitting it on."
"Yeah, I heard all about that. You're having an affair with your manager?"
"I'm not denying the rumor am I?"
"Isn't he married?"
"Yeah, and you should see his wife. She definitely needs botox."
April giggles as she drinks another shot of vodka.
"God, that guy is totally checking you out." Lisa points towards a guy across the bar with dark brown hair and gray eyes. He was staring right at April.
