Eve and Adam did their best as adopted parents to the children that resulted from Eve's sin.
Hansel, the boy, and Gretel, the girl, were good children who did their chores and were obedient to their parents, but never went to bed with full stomachs.
With the winter nights becoming colder and longer, and food becoming scarce, Adam made the choice to leave their children behind, convincing Eve they were just a burden. Though Eve cried and cried, in the end Adam won.
Hansel and Gretel had bundled up warmly for the walk. Eve took their hands and lead them across a wintry path, passing a wooden cross staked in to the ground.
"Who died there?" Gretel pointed to it with her free hand. Eve glanced over, but didn't spoke. She simply pulled her children along.
When they reached a great oak tree, Eve told the children to wait there, and that she would return soon.
Eve never returned to collect her children, and something deep inside the two knew. Instead she ran home and cried in Adam's arms until she slept.
By the tree, the twins sat with her fingers entwined. "Do you think our real parents would want to meet us?" Hansel asked, though he didn't expect an answer from his sister. They knew.
"Come on. Let's go find our real mother." Gretel told him and pulled him to his feet. The golden haired twins skipped back through the forest, and right back to their house, where they knocked on the door and greeted Adam with a sweet, innocent smile.

Fiksi PenggemarSimply my interpretation of Mothy/Akuno-p's series. Like 50% of this is SUPPOSED to make sense, the other half isn't.
