CHAPTER 2O
Charlie's POV :
A strong smell of old and worn out furniture entered my nostrils and slightly reminded me of my consciousness. How am I still alive? I swear I felt something sharp pierce my neck.
I struggled intensely but failed to open my eyes. It felt like they had been glued together with some kind of industrial strength glue. Once I finally succeeded, my eyes felt blinded by the sudden surge of light that was as bright as the afternoon sun. Maybe I was actually dead.
My eyes adapted to the surroundings and I scanned the room for clues to try and figure out where the hell I was. I felt like I was being held hostage in a humongous wooden box. There wasn't any furniture, any paintings or any signs of livelihood. It just reeked of some kind of an old, abandoned warehouse or storage unit. I tried to move around and then realized that I was tied to a chair with some sort of vine which seemed to burn every part of my flesh it made contact with. I studied it and it wasn't like anything I'd ever seen before. It looked so beautiful, bearing flowers with the loveliest hues of violet, purple and lavender.
Since my feet were strangely left free, I planned to pick myself up on my feet and get out of my state of captivity. The only problem is that I would look like a decapitated penguin.
"Not a smart idea, love." Duecalion's voice echoed. What was this place, some kind of confinement facility?
I searched for him in the room but he wasn't anywhere in my line of sight.
"I'm right behind you, sweetheart. Don't fret. The more you struggle, the more the wolfs-bane is going to sting you. Just relax, I won't hurt you. I just want to talk." His voice seemed to be getting closer. I noticed that I was still in last night's clothes, so I had either passed out or he had drugged me. My heart started pumping at a 1000 miles/hour as I felt his fingers run through my hair.
"So black and so beautiful. How could people not see her in you?! Those boys are utterly stupid." He murmured just loud enough for me to hear.
"Ever considered the fact that you got the wrong person? I mean ALL of you!" I yelled helpless, worried if I'd live long enough to get out of here.
"Wow. She definitely wiped you out completely. It's a shame she did that because the bond you shared with her and us was just well, impeccably beautiful."
He paused and sighed, like he was going to regret his next move.
"This might sting a little, but stay steady, if you don't want me to accidentally rip anything and cause any permanent damage!"
I squirmed in my chair and screamed as my gut overwhelmed me with ominous fear.
"Please! If you mean well, just - please let me go!! I promise no one will find out about this!" Fresh tears begged for my freedom, and something inside me knew that this wouldn't end well.
"Close your eyes and relax, haven't you been at the doctors' to get a painless shot? This is going to hurt even less." He tried to soothe me but his deep voice echoed dishonesty.
His long, beast like claws struck and pierced through the back of my neck, delicately entering my spinal cord.
"Sit back and let's take a walk down memory lane." His voice seemed so distant, as if I was awakening from a dream, leaving bits of my memory at bay. Little did I know, that this was just the beginning of my very real nightmare.
Derek's POV :
I watched Deaton carefully prepare two baths and fill them with lots of ice. He worked so quickly, I almost trusted him for a second. But who would ever trust him completely, after all everyone knew his aura was just mystery and secrets.
