The Midnight Corporation

Intro

What if I told you that all these heroes and villains you read about when you were a child are real? Of course you wouldn't believe me. And I don't blame you. You can't look in the future.

It was the year 2314. It had been quite a while since humankind had found out how to travel through time and how to go to alternate dimensions. Researchers were experimenting with a newly found dimensions, which they called dimensions Alpha. It was different from other dimensions since there was a lot more energy stored inside this dimension. Some people might call this energy "magic". They had already made a energy link between our dimension and the Alpha dimension, but when they tried to send people there, the machine malfunctioned. This malfunctioning caused the energy from the other dimension to become unstable, and soon after our dimension was being "eaten away" by this dimension. The researchers couldn't reverse this process, so they tried something else. They created a new dimension. They called this dimension Memoria.

Since the space travelling equipment was broken, they couldn't go to the new dimension themselves. Instead, they created scripts that would make up the new inhabitants of Memoria. These people were all based off myths and legends through time. They all had one goal: go back in time and stop humankind from interfering with dimension Alpha. They imbued Memoria with energy from dimension Alpha, which gave the people powers beyond human capability. This new institute of heroes and villains was named: The Midnight Corporation.

"So they went back in time, stopped humans from interfering with dimension Alpha and everyone lived happily ever after." No. Unfortunately, it wasn't that easy. By going back in time and to our dimensions, time and space got even more broken, and our dimensions split off in uncountable timelines. The problem is that these timelines never go the same way. For example, in one timeline Hitler got accepted to his art school and the Second World War never even started. This would cause major changes in human history, and thus the Midnight Corporation tried to fix these changes, which the call distortions.

How they fix these is actually quite simple. They go in parties from 2 to 5 people back to a certain time period. Here they have to repair the distortion, and then they can go back. The hardest part is how they can't let the people of that time know who they are.
