The three gun shots seemed like a warning.
Garrett got a pit in his stomach, for some reason he believed that once again everything was going to be taking from him.
"Follow me!" Geoff commanded was they took off into the woods.

Unknown to Geoff and Garrett, the group that was up ahead was surrounded by Negan's people again. This time David Leagues was the one in charge. "You assholes think you can just run away from all your problems?" He held a 9mm pistol of some kind in one hand and in the other he held a dry-bloodied pipe, blood from Clayton.
The group panicked when they saw David Leagues but as they looked around for a place to run to they knew it would be hopeless.
"Scared yet?" David smiled with evil intentions. "Line them up, on their knees. Just like during our first meeting."
People approached them with guns raised. A few in the group voluntarily went to their knees, like Doctor Stevens and Lucas, figuring that there was no hope left. But a few others still resisted, like Kenny and Micheal, not wanting to give up that easily, but still they went to their knees.
There was silence, and an eerie feeling as David Leagues stared down each of them. "I told you before, I don't want to kill you people, we need you to work for us...... But you escaped and you killed a whole lot of our people. A whole shit load of them and that is more than i'm comfortable with." David motioned the pipe over towards his people, signaling them for something.
As his people departed, two stepped forward and they were bringing a bloodied and battered person towards David. As they dropped her she fell on her face and the group knew who it was, it was Rebekah. She wasn't dead like they thought she was. David reached down and grabbed the hair towards the front of her head and forced her on to his knees so she was looking at the group. "First she dies, then most of you die. Lakota!" David shouted.
Lakota stepped forward and moved over to David, he gives her the metal pipe. Then he smiles and looks at the group again. "What? I'm a gentleman, I don't kill women.....most of the time." Then he turns and looks at Lakota. "What I want you to do is to split her skull in two, maybe multiple pieces I have no preference."
On the inside Lakota smiled, she was finally going to get back and Garrett and the group for kicking her out of the prison. Though Garrett wasn't here, she thought nothing of it, maybe Walkers got him, it didn't matter anymore. She was going to have her revenge.
Off to the side, Garrett and Geoff were inside a bush watching everything that was about to unfold. There were only four people with guns that were guarding the area, plus David and Lakota which would make six. But Geoff had told him not to do anything stupid which involved going out there.
"Please don't....." Rebekah cried as she knew these were her last moments facing her friends.
Lakota thought about nothing. She raised the pipe like it was an ax above her head, she held it there for seemingly an eternity, but in reality it was only a few seconds before she brought it down onto Rebekah's head, right in the center making her drop like a sack of potatoes.
Blood spurted out of all of the hole on her head from the first hit, her ears, nose, mouth, eyes, including the newly formed crack on her head.
"There we go!" David cheered her on like a parent cheering their kid at a baseball game.
Lakota moved herself so she could take a better downward swing onto the head of the victim. Then she brought the pipe over her head again, and down with force.
David cheered more.
The world slowed around Garrett, watching one of his friends die again. He tired to shake his head to get the slowness to stop, but it wouldn't. Geoff was looking at him, saying things, but his mouth was moving slow and nothing he was saying was making since. He reached into his pocket and grabbed a Philips-head screwdriver, it was a regular size with a black handle. He held it in his palm and looked at it for a while. He then looked back at Geoff, mumbled something, then got up and started to walk towards everything that was happening on the street in front of him.
David's men never noticed Garrett approaching the first guard until it was too late. Garrett jab the screwdriver into the mans neck and the man fell, with his hands grabbing at his neck to try to stop the bleeding. Geoff was right behind him, picking up the fallen mans AK-47 and putting rounds into the other three guards.
Before David could even turn around and see what was happening he felt a slight pain in the lower part of his back, then another sharp pain. He turned around and saw Garrett standing there, his hands bloodied along with the screwdriver. Before he could speak, Garrett once again jabbed the screwdriver in the center of David torso, right underneath the ribs.
David stared at him in shock before falling to the ground.
The others that were on their knees were no longer. Kenny, Micheal and Ryan jumped up and grabbed the weapons off of the other guards and Kenny threw Garrett a pistol.
Garrett focused his energy on Lakota who was backing up slowly but she trips over Rebekah's lifeless corpse and falls onto her back.
"It didn't have to be like this, all you had to do was leave." Garrett told her through his teeth.
"I....I.....Couldn't, I didn't want to be out there alone, they offered me protection and shelter." Lakota fought to get her words out, she was afraid.
"You just had to stop." Garrett yelled at her. He was talking about not killing Rebekah and stopping the brutal murders of Davie and Clayton. "You could have stopped David, but you didn't."
"Let me go. Let me go back and tell Negan that you are dead, that there was a huge fire-fight and I'm the only one that survived...." She was talking frantically, trying to get Garrett to show some remorse. But his face was blank. "I'd....I'd do it for your people."
"Not after this." Garrett sighed. "No, you can't go back Lakota."
"I can talk with Negan....maybe iron it all over.....but you've been out here to long." Lakota started to say as she knew there was no way out of this. Garrett was disgusted and raised his pistol to her head. "You'll die!" Lakota started to breath quickly not knowing what to expect. "You'll all...." The bullet to her brain cut her off.
Garrett stood over her, every part of him was shaking. No one said a word cause there wasn't anything to be said. He then turned his attention to David, who was forced onto his knees by Geoff. Geoff had taken the screw driver out of David's torso and given it back to Garrett.
David was clearly in alot of pain, being stabbed by a screw driver several times will do that to a person. "No point in begging, right?" David sighed half smiling up at Garrett.
He couldn't tell David's emotions, he wanted him to be scared. Garrett stared at him for a time before answering, "No."
"There has to be a reason why I'm still alive, you could have killed me like you did the others but yet I'm still here." David said cringing as he pressed on the hole in his torso tighter.
Garrett looked up at the sky, the sun was setting. The sky was red, blood red as it engulfed the sky. "We didn't want to waste the bullets." He answered David and spit of the ground next to him.
David's lip began to quiver. "We used to help people, we used to saved people......things changed, they came and...." He saw he wasn't changing Garrett's mind. "After that.....I know we have done things to each other. We have both been out there for a long time, I can see it in your eyes......" Garrett smiled and he saw that. "We don't have to do this, we can both walk away and we will never see each other again, I promise you that."
"But you'll cross someone's path, put them through the same shit that we had to go through. You'd do this to anyone...anyone. Right?" Garrett asked with a blank stare. He saw David's eyes go down towards the bloody screw driver he held in his hands. "Besides, I already made myself a promise." He put the pistol in the back of his pants and rose the screw driver and pounced on top of David.
