Let's Be Heroes! pt 1

Zandy's pov: I was asleep, very soundly. Everything was quiet until I heard the faint sound of my bedroom door creaking. Then, I felt someone jump on top of me, causing me to groan. "Zandy, come on, wake up, wake up!" I heard KO say to me. I groan again and say "KO, it's early, 5 more minutes". As I said that, I pulled the blanket covers over my head. "Okay, guess you don't want to come with me and mom to Lakewood Plaza Turbo today" I hear him say. At an instant, I get up from the bed, grabbed my clothes and into the bathroom. "I'll be out the door in 5" I said to him. After I changed, I went out the door and found Carol and KO waiting for me in the car. "Hey Zandy, ready to go" Carol asked me. "Ready as I'll ever be Aunt Carol" I said.

As I got in the car, I hear KO muttering things about his cards in his book. I couldn't help but give a sweet smile to him. "Ready to go, KO?" Carol asked him. "Oh, yeah mom" he answered. "I know coming to work with your mom isn't cool for a boy your age, but your babysitter is fighting the flu". I then hear KO say "what! The flu doesn't stand a chance against Judy. She's like the toughest fighter in the neighborhood". "Very true" I said. "You don't mind coming to work with me, do you Zandy?" Carol asks me. "No, I don't mind at all, besides, who knows, maybe I can find a job there". As I said that, me and KO see Judy actually fighting the flu. Then, the flu flies straight to the window after Judy socker punched it. "See, yuck" KO said. Judy said sorry and left to finish the flu off.

"We better get out of here before things turn really ugly" Carol said. "Destination, KO and Zandy". Me and KO smiled at each other and together said "Lakewood Plaza Turbo!!" With that said, we took off in a flash. Minutes later, we have arrived at the plaza. I was clearly amazed just like KO is. "Oh, can't get distracted" I heard him say. He looks over his cards again, saying how he needs to focus on the facts to meet real heroes. "You know KO, you can be a hero yourself, just like Zandy here" Carol said to him. "I could be a hero?" he said. "Yeah, little man. With a lot of hard work and some action, you can be a really good hero" I tell him, nudging his head of hair, causing him to laugh. "Everyone from that binder of yours came from humble beginnings, KO. Even Mr. Gar had to work hard to become a hero he is today" Carol explained. "Really?!" I said, a little surprised. "I don't know about that, I bet he was always level 11" said KO. "Hhm, not when I first met him" said Carol. Out of the corner of my eye, I see KO's eyes widen and we started following her. "Hang on, you know Mr. Gar" he said. "Of course, he runs the whole plaza. It's kind've hard not to miss him" I explained to him.

Then, as if on que, a bright orange car appears from the sky, landing awesomely on the ground. A big gust of dust surrounds us for a second. Me and KO look up and there he was. The greatest hero himself. Mr. Gar. "Employees!" he shouts. Then, two other teenagers about my age appeared in front of him in an instant. "Yes sir, Mr. Gar sir!" they said to him. I look at the alien guy, and my heart started beating rapidly. 'Wow, he's so...so...hot' I thought. He was full on muscle. I couldn't stop staring at him. Then I felt someone poking me on my knee. "Um, Zandy, are you okay?" I shake my head and see KO looking at me curiously. "What, uh. I'm fine, KO, really I'm fine. Just, enjoying the nice day we have" I said, blushing madly. I quickly looked at the guy, then see him look at me and give a small wave. I shyly wave back at him before he returned to the store.

"Morning Mr. Gar" I heard Carol say. Mr. Gar stiffens and looks at Carol. At an instant, I knew he has a huge crush on her. "Umm, hello Carol, and uh, Carol's offspring, and dragon girl" he says nervously. I wave at him while KO said "it was nice to meet you". "Wow, maybe if I hangout here long enough, maybe Mr. Gar's heroness will rub off on me" he said. As he said that, we stopped in front of Carol's fitness dojo. "You could say that, but I rather stick to the classic methods" Carol and KO started to walk in, but for some reason I didn't. My mind was too focused on that alien boy. "You coming, Zandy?" I heard Carol say. I look at her and then said "umm, you know, I'm going to look around at the bodega real quick. I'll be right back". I see Carol give me a knowing smirk and rolled her eyes a little. "Alright, don't be gone too long" she said. "Don't worry, I won't" I said back. Then, I started making my way to the bodega.
