Prologue
Pierce the Impaler was a secret member of the Plague. Just like Jemi the Tactician, she was a weapon hidden for the greater good.
She was the best swordsman in all history and none- not even Lashea the Matron herself- can defeat her. In the Matron's order, she kills with perfect precision using her sword and can never get captured by the rivals of the warriors.
She fell in love with Zanthe the Darer who was in love with Matron and it was a tragedy. When Zanthe knew of this, he used it to his advantage.
He sent out Pierce to kill all of the Matron's allies and family. And she did it without hesitation, just to get him. But deep down that she couldn't compete with the beauty and kindness of Lashea.
She was caught trying to slit the Matron's throat and was sentenced to death.
She was able to escape and was said to jump off a cliff and was never heard from again.
Peri closed the book-more liked slammed- and grabbed her sword that Ayron gave to her. It is obvious that these scholars know nothing of the Impaler. Absolutely nothing.
She doesn't even use a sword to kill. It's too heavy and sloppy. She uses a dagger for a cleaner kill. She went out of the library with her usual swagger, twisting the dangerous sword around and smirked. Her recent kill sent shivers down these people's spine. Fools for her in their kingdom.
"She is the Lady Excalibur isn't it?" A folk asked, his voice barely a whisper. Her smirk grew wider. From the corner of her eye, she saw another folk nod. "Why is she still around in this kingdom? She should be killed on sight! Or be banned!"
"The king does not want to have a problems with the Hellward," a wiser folk replied, watching the passing member with a worried expression. She spared him a glance that made him back down.
"The king is a coward then! She killed his only daughter, for heaven's sake!"
"Your mess of a king has always been a coward. I always favored his younger brothers. Those wild creatures has potential to fight against me or the Ward," she said, giving them a grin that sent enemies running. "If you want, you can contact Ayron and tell him that you want your king to be killed. Romano and the rest of your king's brothers are hungry for that position. He never was competent. You, people, deserve better."
The wiser folk gritted his teeth. "It is funny that we are hearing this in your mouth, Excalibur." And in a deeper voice and in the Krovavellian language, "Yet you are right. Our kingdom had once been the best one out of all and now because of our weak king, we are forgotten."
The other villagers did not understand a word that he said. He must be a mercenary. Peri smiled. "The offer still holds up. You know where to find us. It would be a bummer to see this kingdom fall into pieces when it is a creation of the Matron," she replied in the same language.
