Part 13

"JUST be cool. Don't show it. Act naturally." Parang mantra na makailang ulit na sinambit ni Yui ang mga katagang iyon habang binabanlawan ang buhok sa ilalim ng shower. It was her way of conditioning herself when she'll be in front of Red again.

Masakit ang malamang one sided love ang kinasasadlakan niya ngayon. But she's determined to be strong in front of him. He's treating her nice as a friend. Kahit masakit ay kailangan niyang suklian ang friendship na iyon.

At kahit naliligo ay wala siyang palalampasin na pagkakataon para makakundisyon ng isipan.

"Ahhh!!!" Isang impit na sigaw ang pinakawalan niya nang may biglang nagbukas ng pintuan ng shower room. Hindi magkamayaw ang kamay niya sa pagtakip ng kanyang hubad na katawan dahil sa pintuan na iyon ay may isang lalaking nakatayo at nanlalaki ang mga matang nakatingin sa kanya.

"What the fuck, Red! Get out of here!" Bulyaw niya habang pilit na inaabot ang roba na nakasabit malapit sa kanya.

"S-sorry, Yui!" Agad itong tumalikod ngunit hindi pa rin umaalis sa pintuan. "H-hindi ka kasi sumasagot. Kaya pumasok agad ako. Akala ko kung napano ka na."

Mabilis niyang sinuot ang roba at umalis sa ilalim ng shower. "Hindi ka ba marunong kumatok, ha?! You can't just barge in on any room just because you freaking own this resort!"

"I'm sorry really. I'm just worried." Iba na ang tono ng boses nito. She could sense relief rather than being sorry.

"Why would you worry? I was more than fine until you barge into the shower!" She walked past him na pilit pa rin pinapakalma ang sarili. "At ano ba ang ipag-aalala mo sa akin, ha? Nandito lang ako sa loob ng kwarto. Walang mangyayari sa akin."

"I'm just wanted to be sure. You weren't answering my calls. You weren't opening the door. Natatakot akong..."

"Ano? Ano bang ikinatatakot mo?"

He went closer to her and cupped her face. "I was just scared." He was looking at her as if inspecting her thoroughly.

Pero imbes mainis ay biglang uminit ang kanyang pisngi sa biglaang paghawak nito. She couldn't resist his eyes looking at her that way so she immediately withdrew from him.

"Pero dahil sa ginawa mo, daig ko pa ang tinalupan ng buhay!"

"But I've seen them all. Remember?" She can sense teasing in his voice which made her cheeks burn again.

Agad siyang tumalikod upang kalmahin ang sarili. Whatever he does creates havoc inside her.

But he was right! Nakita na nito ang lahat lahat sa kanya!

"N-now you know I'm fine. Pwede ka nang umalis."

Pero hindi siya nakarinig ng yabag palayo. Bagkus papalapit sa kanya ang mga hakbang nito.

"Hindi lang naman iyon ang ipinunta ko rito."

"I don't have all day, Red. Sabihin mo na agad kung bakit ka talaga nandito."

He held her arm and made her face him. "I want to know why you came to my house."

She couldn't bear the look in his eyes kaya agad siyang nagbawi ng tingin. "Iyon lang ba ang ipunta mo rito? I just want to thank you for the camera. And also for everything you have done for me. Kaya kita pinuntahan kanina."

"Iyon lang?"

"Wh-what else could it be?"

"Maybe because you're worried sick about my condition?"

Nahigit niya ang hininga. "You know what? Instead of bugging me here, why don't you go to your girlfriend? I bet she's bored now without you there."

"Are you jealous of Dana, Yui?"

She wanted to say 'yes' but she knew better. "What are you talking about? I'm not——"

Pero hindi niya matuloy ang sinasabi dahil bigla siya nitong sinakop ang labi niya. Biglang nag-short circuit ang utak niya sa bilis ng pangyayari. Namanhid ang buong katawan niya.

This is so wrong...But why does it feel so good?

His lips are so inviting and it makes her want to answer his kisses. And even with a tremendous effort she couldn't stop herself- she just realized that she's kissing him back. Mas naging agresibo pa ito nang tugunin niya ang halik nito. She as well couldn't help not to wrap her arms around Red's neck. She wasn't able to think straight until he ended the kiss.

Ilang sandali pa ang lumipas ngunit walang nagsalita sa kanilang dalawa. She mustered her strength to do the first talking.

"That... that didn't mean a thing. It was wrong. We shouldn't have done that." Hindi ibig sabihin na masarap ang halik ay tama na iyon. She's still firm in the idea that the only thing that connects them now is the beach that she wanted back. And besides... he has someone else.

"There's nothing wrong in kissing the girl that I love." He gazed at her like she's the most beautiful girl in the world. "I love you, Yui."
