The minute Harry woke up, Niall was already by his side on the bed, ready to tend to his best friend's aid.
"Hey, H. How are you feeling?" The blonde boy asks softly.
Harry furrows his eyebrows together, his face showing confusion, "w-why? What happened?"
"You don't remember?"
The Prince shakes his head 'no', "last thing I remember is talking with Princess Ave- wait! Is she still here?! Is King Cowell here?! Why was I asleep? Niall, tell me what happened!" He starts to panic, alerting Niall once again.
"Whoa, whoa! Don't forget to breathe, H! Just calm down for a minute, yeah? I'll explain."
And he does, after Harry's breathing went back to normal.
A sad look appeared on the curly haired Prince's face, the recent happenings finally coming back to him, "Niall, what if she was right?"
The servant boy scoffs, "don't believe a word she said, Haz. We don't have to worry about her or King Cowell now anyway, they're banned from ever coming back to Donshire. Let's just focus on making sure you're alright."
"But I am..?"
Niall shoots him a look, "you passed out on me a few hours ago from a panic attack, Prince curly, don't think your father wasn't the slightest worried about you, because he was."
Harry groans, "I'm fine now!" I just want to find Louis... He wanted to add in, but decided against it. He knows his dad won't let the incident slide that easily, so he'll just have to undergo whatever the heck he's supposed to go through.
"King Robin has already requested our kingdom's best doctor to check up on you. In fact, she'll be here any minute now."
Of course. Harry rolls his eyes.
It isn't like he doesn't appreciate his father's concern, but the best doctor in their kingdom? He wasn't dying or anything. Though he understands where he's coming from. He is his only son after all, and the next heir to the throne, so what father wouldn't want the best for their child? Exactly.
______"Everything seems to be in check, my Prince," Doctor Smith tells the young boy sitting on his bed, with his best friend next to him, "my only concern is that you're quite young to be dealing with stress." She taps a finger under her chin, "I don't know if your parents have informed you about this, but you were born with a weak heart."
"Say what?!" Both boys exclaim at the same time.
"I'm afraid, yes."
"What does that have to do anything with my stress? I hardly get stressed!- well, except for these past few days- but I'll be fine now." Harry tries reasoning.
"Prince Harry, I've diagnosed you with Stress Cardiomyopathy."
"Which is...?" Niall urges for her to continue.
"Stress Cardiomyopathy, or also known as Broken Heart Syndrome, is a condition where intense emotional or physical stress can cause rapid and severe heart muscle weakness. Its symptoms are often similar to having a Heart Attack, which are; chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, weakness, and palpitations (the sensation of the heart pounding)."
(Yes, I searched it up to make sure I got it right for this story, tho I might add in some info that may not be true or is not possible. This is fiction, just go with it. Fanks.)
The curly haired Prince stares up at the doctor in shock, "w-wow, um, will my panic attacks affect my uh, condition?"
"Sadly, yes." She nods slightly and begins explaining, "As you know, during a panic attack, your heart starts to race rapidly. Cardiomyopathy causes your heart muscle to become enlarged, thick or rigid. So, as your heart tries to pump blood through out your body while having a panic attack, your condition only makes it harder for it to flow. That's where these symptoms come in; weakness, nausea, dizziness, and shortage of breath."
Now that Harry thinks about it, even back when he was a child, his parents never ceased to make him smile. Was him having a heart condition the reason why?
"How can we avoid those, Doctor Smith?" Niall asks nervously.
"I suggest staying away from things that will trigger our Prince's panic attacks and things that will cause him physical and emotional pain. Stay stress free." She answers the Irish boy.
Both boys nod and bid the doctor farewell as she had another client to attend to.
Niall turns to his best friend and reminds, "heard what she said, H? Absolutely no stressing whatsoever."
"I know..."
"No overworking yourself."
"Yeah..."
"And definitely NO worrying about Louis."
"Mhm- wait, what?!"
The blonde servant boy shushes him with his hand over his mouth, "nope. No. You heard me." Harry gives him a sad look through his eyes, "And before you say anything else, please think about your health for now, yeah? Louis wouldn't want you fainting on him as well, now would he?"
Harry pushes Niall's hand away from his mouth and sighs.
He does have a point.
"Alright."
A big smile appears on Niall's face, "brilliant! Now, since I have the rest of the day off, how's about we head down to the kitchen and ask Barbara to whip us up some snacks? Then maybe we can chill in the library? How's that sound?"
"That...actually sounds nice." A smile begins to creep onto the Prince's face,"yeah, I think I'd like that very much."
Niall wraps an arm around his friend's shoulders and begins to lead them out the door, saying in a low, narrative-ish voice which has them laughing aloud,
"to the kitchen!"
Yeah I know, really short. But this chapter was more like an insight of what Harry is dealing with.
