PART 1

Chance P.O.V:

"Come on man, just come with me." My close friend Towkio said to me.

"Maaan, Ion know bout this." I said a little skeptical about going.

"Look man if you go and you enjoy it, then great. But if you don't like it then we aint never got to go back, and we do that dumb shit you want to do."

"That dumb thing I want to do is get on the slingshot. But as long as I win, I'll go."

"Aight man, go get ready, we leaving in 30."

"Nigga, don't tell me what to do."

I got up and went into my bedroom. I closed the door and went into my bathroom. I turned on the shower and got undressed. I hopped in and washed up. I got up and wrapped my towel around my waist. I brushed my teeth and greased my hair. I went to my closet and looked for some clothes.

I put on my dark blur joggers, my white and orange socks, white shirt with my white foams and my light blue jean jack with fur on the inside. (^^^) I grabbed my red hat with the "3" on it and put it on my head. I sprayed on some cologne and walked back into my living room. Towkio was still on my couch with his feet on my coffee table.

"Bro we going or not?"

He looked over at me and got up. I grabbed my keys and he turned off the TV and lights. We left out and I locked the doors. We got into my car and I he gave me directions as I drove. We pulled up to this building in the ally. Shit is sketchy. We walked up to the door and he knocked in the door. A mysterious man opened the door and we walked in. Most people were were standing and some people sitting.

"Nice. Right bro?" Towkio said putting his hand on my shoulder and taking a deep breath.

"Its aight." I said as I looked around.

I saw a bar and went toward it. I ordered a bring and heard a voice over speakers.

"Hello everybody, as you all know how this works and for those of you who don't this is Poésie. Now I'm about to introduce you all to a very lovely lady. She has been up here a few times and we all love to hear her poems. So here she is, The African Princess."

As soon as he said that I turned around and saw a beautiful chocolate complexed woman. Her hair was curly and long. It was pulled up into a curly, bushy ponytail. Her thick hips swayed as she walked over to the mic. Her outfit was simple and her skin appeared smooth.

She wore a cropped shirt that read "Black Girls Got The Juice", smooth silky black leggings, black sandals with small silver rhinestones on them, a black head wrap worn as a headband and to top it all off medium sized silver hooped earrings. She stood in front of the mic and placed her hands on it before she spoke.

"Hello my beautiful people. Here we go."

Her voice was smooth, soft and sweet. It was soothing yet innocent. When she spoke I felt as though I have heard her voice before. Her subtle facial features seemed oddly familiar, I just couldn't place my finger on it. She cleared her throat and spoke again.

"I see Egypt in her eyes and Sudan in
her skin.
I see Somalia in her face and
Zimbabwe in her waist.
I see the Congo in her thighs and

Ghana in her hips.I see Senegal in her hair and Nigeria
in her lips.
I see Rowanda in her walk and
Kenya in her dance.
I see Uganda in her grace and
Liberia in her smile.
I see Sierra Leone in her will andMali in her pose.I see Africa in her heart.
Black women with all your might,
Black woman you are truly a beautiful sight.Black woman with your beautiful face,You are definitely a credit to your black race.
Black, woman, say it loud,Being black, is being proud.Black woman in this unbearable land,Stop a minute and take your black brother's hand.
Black women you are a mother, woman, and a friend,
Without a black woman a black man can't win.Black woman education and respect are your goals,
All these are said, but seldom showed.
black woman, be proud of what you are, because it
Will always take you very far.
Black woman whose fore-parents were once a slave,If you apply yourself you can have it made.Black woman you are clean, modest, and neat,Believe me black woman you can't be beat.Black woman always watch what you do,Being black makes everyone else watch you.God made heaven, God made Earth. Beautiful black women consider yourself...what god made first."

She smile and I noticed how straight and white her teeth were. She was gorgeous. She seemed so familiar yet I still couldn't place her.

"Thank you everyone. I'm Queenie"

She waved and walked off the stage into the back. Queenie... I know her, I just can't remember from where. Everyone clapped as she walked away. The emotion she put into her poem and the way she moved as she spoke was amazing.

"Aye. Aye Chance. Aye bruh you okay?"

I snapped out of my own world and turned back to Towkio.

"Come on man, follow me."

I finished off my drink and followed behind him. We went to the back and there she was. She sat in a chair with her legs crossed as she looked through her journal.

"Queenieeee!" Her head snapped around and she closed her book.

"Preston! How you been man?" She stood up and walked over to us.

"I been good. You were great as usual."

"Thanks." She said as she gave him a hug.

"Now introduce me to your friend."

She turned to me and I smirked at her.

"Why? He not important."

I mugged him and turned back to her.

"I'm Chance."

"I'm Queenie." I put my hand out to shake hers and she opened her arms. Her name is just very familiar.

"I hug." I gave her a hug and we pulled away. She smiled at me and noticed her subtle features.

Her white teeth contrasted perfectly with her smooth chocolate skin. Her eyebrows were thick and naturally arched. Her lips were a slight lighter shade of brown. Her eyes were big with long thick eyelashes surrounding them. She is absolutely beautiful.

"Your poem was beautiful." I said to her.

"Thank you. Love the hat and jacket by the way." She lightly ran her dainty fingers across the fur causing me to lick my lips.

"Thanks." I said slightly smiling.

"Alright that's enough of that. We gotta go Queenie. I'll see you later."

"I gotta leave soon too. Got work in the morning. See you guys later."

"Later." We spoke at the same time making us mug each other. We left and went out to my car. We got in and began to drive. On the drive home with the radio playing I spoke.

"Where do you know her from?"

"I met her when I came here a couple years ago."

We sat in silence and let the radio play on the almost silent ride home.

"I know her from somewhere dawg. I know I do."
