Chapter 34

1996 15th of April

Mel

Today was the day of Dave and I's wedding.
"Stop moving! " Shelli said we I'll let trying go apply the eyeshadow on my eyelids.
"I am so nervous! What if it doesn't work out or what if he doesn't show up or what... "

"Clam down. None of that's going to happen. Anyway Dave's already here, " Shelli said.

"Oh." Shelli finished my makeup then the hairstylist came to do my hair. She was my maid of honor for the wedding and the other brides maids were Jo, my cousin Anne and one of my best friends Angie. Angie is Duff's girlfriend and I only met her 6 months ago but we hve become really close.

"So you excited for the wedding night? " Jo asked and raised an eyebrow.

"Stop moving! I will burn you, " the hairstylist working on, Joy said.

"Oh yes! You will have to tell me everything," Angie said.

"I nearly forgot! " Shelli said and went over to her suitcase.

"It's from all of us, " Shelli said and passed it to me. I opened it and it was all of my favourite things. There was a block of caramel chocolate, a new bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy Chains, a pair of small hoop earrings, a photo from with a photo of me Shelli and To in high school, another photo frame with a picture of Me, Shelli and Angie backstage at the most recent Foo Fighters concert, a poster from Nirvanas first gig and a necklace with pendant on it and on the front mine and Dave's initials and on the back our wedding date.

"Oh I love you girls, " I said and hugged them all.

Dave

"Do I look ok?! " I asked Taylor.

"Yes dude, chill out! " he said.

"What if Mel changes bet mind?! " I said

"I just saw her and the girls and Mel is extacit," Krist said walking into the room.

"You sure?"

"Yes! Now go out, it will be starting soon, " Taylor said. I met the celebrant at the alter and we waited for Mel. I heard the first notes to Bryan Adams "I do it for you" being played out on a piano. Francis stepped out of the door and was holding Anne's hand. Next came Jo and Angie. They came up to the front and stood opposite Pat and Taylor. Shelli came out and took her place opposite Krist. Mel then came out with Duff by her side since he was giving her away. Mel look gorgeous, I couldn't believe I was about to marry her. She stood opposite me and was slightly crying tears of joy. I even started to cry a bit. I could hear Shelli and many other guests sniffiling. The vowels were done and we were ready to get confirmed.

"You may now kiss the bride. " I lifted Mels veil and we had our first kiss as a married couple. We walked back down the isle together and went into the wedding car to go to the reception.

Mel

"So I guess you will have to call me Mrs Grohl," I said.

"I sure will, " Dave said and kissed me.
