chapter one ~ snow

She looked at the university and sighed she already missed home, and she hasn't even gotten out of the car yet. ‘ a dorm full of people. Great ‘  she grabbed her duffle bag from the motor vehicle passenger seat and swung it around her shoulder. She smoothed out her crop top then locked her car. ‘ maybe I'll be lucky and get a dorm to myself? ‘ she smiled at the thought of that. She opened the door then looked around. ‘  central office ‘  she guessed as she saw the counter and a clerk. Next to the counter was a bulletin board it was filled with little notes pinned up with takes most of them were just about missing items but as she walked closer, she saw a small notice about a firework show to start off a new year at the university ‘ maybe. ‘

“ can I help you? “ the clerk asked looking at her she tapped her pen against the counter loudly. ‘ yes please a one-way ticket home!’ she thought crossly but didn't dare to say it.

“ yeah I'm the new girl moving into the dorms “ she muttered looking at her feet just wanting to leave.

“ Yes well multiple new girls are heading into the dorms I'm going to need your name, “ she said as she logged into her computer. The girl froze ‘ my name…’ she took a deep breath ‘  maybe she won't recognize my last name…’ She hopped

“ summer Lakewood, “ she said quickly looking up to see the clerks reaction. At first, the clerk just smiled then she looked up her name to see what dorm she was in and all of her information popped up. The clerk read the information her smile flickered slightly but barely changed

“ dorm 3 “ she smiled not looking at the girl in the eye as she handed her the keys to the dorm.

“ thanks,” she said quickly as she took the keys and went down the hallway with all the dorms ‘ dorm one… dorm two… dorm three’ she took a deep breath and played with the key before opening the door. She took a step in the dorm and whistled ‘ this wasn't what I was expecting..’ the main room was the kitchen and the living room combined there was an island counter, the tv hung from the wall on the far wall. The walls were white with a small little golden border along the bottom.

“ what are you whistling about?” asked a girl from the couch. Her hair was bright red and flowed down her shoulders. She had a baggy pink sweater on with ripped jeans. She had a PS3 controller in her hand, and the tv screen was now paused in the middle of a movie

“ nothing “ snow mumbled. She took off her shoes and put them on the shoe rack she tightened her grip on the bag as the girl drop the controller and walked over to her. She stared hard at snow.

“ I know you from somewhere..” she uttered “ maybe you just have one of those faces?” she shrugged as she walked away to grab something from the fridge. She loosened her grip slightly and exhaled she headed to one of the dorm doors and opened it. It leads to a small bedroom with a bed, dresser, and lamp. ‘At least I get my own room ‘  she threw her bag onto the bed and looked more closely at the walls they were an odd yellowish color with a daisy border      ‘ downside? It needs work ‘  she sighed as she unpacked her duffle bag and put her clothing on the dresser. She wondered if she should get the paints or wait for later? She debated this for a couple of minutes. Then settled she would do it later she sat down on the bed and pulled out a sheet of paper with her schedule for the university ‘ let’s see… they gave me three days off to get settled in… great’ she rolled her eyes at the last part, of course, that meant three extra days in this university she sighed her father made her come here, and she still didn't know why didn’t even know why she was here she didn’t need to be. She took a quick look at her phone one new message she opened the letter and read
