Chapter 13

“Why you calling me a playa…Why you callin me lil shorty mack…Should be calling me your Romeo…cause I’m looking for my Juliet..”

(Sweets POV)

After about 30 minutes of being grilled by B’s Cousins. I was ready to see the sights. Tappahannock was a small town near Richmond, VA. B always said it was the country and it was! But it was a needed change of pace from New York. I missed Atlanta so this was right at home for me.

Once B got dressed and all of his cousins did the same we all decided to pile into KJ’s Suburban. Me and B were in the back by the window.  It’s silly but I noticed his face as he introduced me to Aaron and I saw a hint of possessiveness. All I could do was laugh inside because yes Aaron was as handsome as B with the most beautiful blue eyes but he was not who I wanted. I don’t go through the homies and especially not family!

Once we pulled up to this large park we all jumped out. I thought to myself is this all? B grabbed my hand and we all started walking towards the basketball courts. They were all making jokes and talking about each other then KJ started in on me but I showed him I had no problem roasting back. They all laughed and dapped me up because I could hang and not get mad. I have always had mostly male friends so this was comfortable for me. When we finally got to the bleachers there were guys on the court and I could tell everybody’s demeanor changed as B started walking in front of me.

“Aye stay behind me.” Was all he said so I did.

“Fuck them niggas.” Keeis said pointing at the three guys standing in the middle of the court.

“What you say?” The tall one asked walking slowly towards us as the other two followed.

“I said fuck ya’ll niggas…What you gonna do Jason?” Keeis said as the rest of B’s cousins walked behind him.

“Stay by the bleachers aight.” B told me before joining his cousins. I was confused and a little worried because I didn’t come down here for drama but I did as he said.

I saw them all surround the three guys and they started arguing then shoving began between KJ and the tall one as B started talking shit to the shorter dark one. 

“Fuck out my face little nigga for I go over there and steal ya bitch.” The shorter dark one said to B. 

“I dare you nigga.” B said squaring up with him. Just then the dark one swung on B. and it was on! I was in shock as B and his cousins started beating the three guys down.

I didn’t know what to do but my tomboy instincts kicked in when one of the guys tried to sucker punch B so I sprinted towards the group. I’m guessing B saw me coming so he hit the guy hard laying him out then ran towards me.

“WHERE YOU GOIN?” He asked grabbing me around my waist and carrying me back then that's when we heard a shot.

“RUN!” B said to me nearly dragging me towards the sidewalk.

I was scared as hell so I just ran all the way to KJ’s car. “GET DOWN!” B said pulling me to the ground and laying on top of me beside the car as we heard two more shots. Then we heard a bunch of footsteps and KJ yelling.

“Yea nigga I got heat too ya’ll betta run…Ya’ll get in the car.” KJ said jumping in the drivers seat.

B damn near yanked me off the ground and put me in the car as we sped off. I was shaking and I hadn’t been in anything like that since I was in LA. I mean it wasn’t as hardcore but I was definitely shook.

“Fuck them fools…We beat they ass!” Robb said dapping up Keeis, B and Aaron.

“You see that punk try to pull a heat?” KJ said to Gonzo who was in the passenger seat.
