Chapter Twenty Seven
~Violet's POV~"I hate you all!"
I wake up with a force. What was that? I was so angry and hurt. It felt like someone close to me had betrayed me. Whatever that dream was, it means trouble. My head is killing me, but I ignore it. That's not my biggest issue. My teeth are. They are hurting super badly and I don't know why. I roll out of bed with a thud and pad downstairs to see Teegan making breakfast.
"Morning Sleeping Beauty." She chirps, smiling brightly. I groan, rubbing my head. I must've hit it so hard when I fell out of bed that I ended up in a parallel universe. Teegan is happy and nice? What has this world become?
"What are you so chipper about so early in the bloody morning?" I grumble. She turns around, still smiling.
"Did you forget about the big pay day yesterday? I can quit my job and spend that time worrying about everything else! Besides I'm tired of being sad. mum and Omar would definitely not be happy with us if they saw how we were reacting. They'd want us to just be happy. And why shouldn't we? Why should we let those damned demons win? Because we've already lost everything else. They have taken everything. We can't let them take our happiness too." Teegan rants.
"You're starting to sound like Vi." Jax steps into the room. What is going on here?
"Do we ever lock the door or did Jaxton somehow manage to get a key to our house?" I mean, honestly. He is always just waltzing in like he owns the place.
"I guess you'll never know." He smirks. I glare at him. Because this is exactly what I need, especially today. My head is still throbbing, my teeth are still burning. I'm cold. So very cold. And these two are just throwing me all off my game.
"I literally hate the both of you. I am going back up to my room and I hope to see neither of you again today. Or ever." And I do exactly that. I storm upstairs and slam the door behind me.
I crawl into bed and cuddle up with my blankets. What is happening to me today?
"Vi, come with me." Jax walks into my room - I'm sorry, barges in. He grabs my hand and looks me in the eyes. Intensely.
"I don't feel like going anywhere." I complain.
"C'mon, love. It'll be fun." He encourages.
"Fun for who? I feel like shit. I had a bad dream. I don't feel like dealing with anyone today." I snap. For once, can't he just listen to what I want?
"I'm not gonna take a 'no' for an answer so just come with me and you'll see just how worth it, it'll be." He says and pulls me out of my room. I just want to hurt him. Has he even once taken my thoughts or feelings into consideration in the three months that we've known each other?
"I was about to go up there and make sure everyone was okay, because you were taking forever." Zander shakes his head as we appear in the living room.
"What is going on?" I ask, annoyed with everyone.
"The kids went to hangout with some mates so I thought, 'hey Jax is already here, we're both alone, why not get Nix over here too?' So I got him. Now I'm taking Jax and you're taking Nix. Kind of like a best mate swap. Sort of. The more I think about it, the more confused I get, but you get the point." Tee rambles on. Okay then. So I'm spending the day with Zander? Hmmm, at this point, that's a way better thought than spending it with either of those two freaks. But Zander still pisses me off all the time so this'll be interesting.
"Where are we going?" I ask as we head outside, the first ones out.
"Well we're going to just walk for a bit and go from there. Eventually maybe you'll drop the attitude and just have a normal conversation with me." He lets out a sigh.
