Sense of hearing - avoided use of you, I, he, etc - present tense
Status ~ unedited
The noises swirl around, voice after voice blending into one, overwhelming, sound. Spiralling up and up and up, slowly getting louder, yet the buzzing of white noise could still be heard over the chorus of humming. The wailing of peoples voices echoed around the crowded room, making it seem hot and claustrophobic. Conversations of peoples days bounced around, all merging into one huge chatter. It was impossible to concentrate on now, with no one willing to share their sound, and the resonance of noise only grew even more overwhelming. Voice after voice after voice, again and again. A shaky hand grasps the headphones left abandoned on the table, which was covered with drinks and food, and slips them over a set of ringing ears. Peace. The sound suddenly is dampened by the soothing sound of calm music. Above the music, voices could still be heard, yet now it's muffled, as if the world had suddenly sunk into water. It's calm.
People will make noise, you just need to learn how to wash it away.
