My feet pounded on the earth, sticks, leaves, and dirt crunching beneath them as I ran. Faster and faster I went to the point that the crackling sound became a silent echo of nothing. I became the wind flying under the western red cedar trees that towered before me, they casted brilliant shadows and provided diamond like flickers of light from the sun that peeked through. I didn't know where I was going. I just knew I was going.

I noticed that I never grew tired anymore which is great, but how I wished I could sleep.

I slowed down and pushed my body into the air jumping across a river. Touching the ground once more, I came to a halt. I'll make camp here, not that I need to sleep. Running just gets boring after awhile. Especially when you're alone.

But I was certainly not alone. I heard it a few miles behind me. Keeping up with me but keeping its distance. I could hear it's four paws beating against the ground silently. Stalking its prey.

I knew it was stalking me, but they'll have no luck biting into my impenetrable flesh. Unless it's a wolf. I'm praying it's not after what I witnessed hours before. I sat waiting for the animal to show its self. When it did I gasped. It's a mountain lion.

I've never seen one in person before, I've only seen them in pictures. They're absolutely beautiful. The animal has some regal to them and wonderful poise. It prowled around me, growling to show whose in charge. I didn't avert my watchful eyes, I just stared in awe.

Gaining courage, I decided to walk over to the creature with my head bowed to show I wouldn't harm it. I reached my hand to see if it'd come to me and It did. The mountain lion lunged at me and we toppled through the dirt covered ground. I felt it's mouth go to my neck and it's teeth trying to bite through my skin. Of course, it didn't succeed.

I didn't want to hurt the animal so I let it chew and naw at me like I was a toy. I'm aware that it's teeth wouldn't be able to make the smallest of cuts. It felt like I was receiving licks from a small puppy than bites of a mountain lion. Giving up, The mountain lion huffed in annoyance. Its muscles flexing underneath its brownish red speckled coat. I let my hand reach up and touched its fur, the muscles tensing under my touch. Soon it relaxed enjoying the soft caresses of my cold hands. If I were human I would never be able to do this.

SNAP!

Both of our heads instantly looked to our right noticing a giant figure looming in the trees. The mountain lion scurried off as quick as possible. There's not a single animal that can kill me. Except one, wolves, and I was looking one in the eyes. I sped off in the opposite direction hearing multiple paws thumping after me.

Flight or fight kicked in immediately. I'm definitely not a fighter but maybe I should be? At least for the sake of saving my undead life. But if I allowed my animalistic instincts to kick in, if I allowed my self to fight, to taste blood, my humanity will forever be gone.

So I ran. Hard and fast. They kept up with me for miles not breaking a single sweat. I listened to see how far back they were but I ended up hearing something else.
Footsteps, about seven of them, they're moving swift, light as a feather, and they're making there way towards me and the group of snarling wolves.

In my distraction one of the wolves got a hold of my foot, it's teeth digging into my skin causing it to crack at my ankle and travel up my calf. Locking the pain deep within me, I used my strength to pull away but was tossed up into the air. That's when something was triggered inside me and I knew If I didn't get away soon I'd explode. Ticking time bomb.

Using the momentum to my advantage I grabbed the first tree branch I could and climbed up. Dashing and dodging across branches. The wolves were steadily keeping up and so were the seven foot steps that I could now make out. The Cullen's appeared on the other side of the river, rushing after us. They had to leave and they had to leave now.

I don't know why they're here but they need to get away from me. I couldn't yell out to them, that would mean certain death. So as I ran I searched for the one person I could communicate with. Catching the flick of bronze at the front of the Cullen's I pushed my self to go faster jumping from the safety of the trees and to the soil. I rolled to my feet and zoomed to where Edward was so that we were running next to each other but separated by the river.

We caught each other's eye and I could see that he's scared. He's barely showing it but I could see hints of dread in his golden brown orbs. I glanced behind me and saw the wolves gaining. I looked back to Edward and began to plea,

"Stop! You need to go back! Get your family out of here!"

Edwards head snapped up at me and he yelled over, "Alice, she had a vision that you were in trouble! I couldn't — I couldn't just leave you!"

Surprised at his words I pushed away the flutter in my stomach, "You're putting your family in danger by coming here, you need to get as far away as possible. I can feel it coming, I can't control it!"

At that Edward looked into my mind further and he could hear the pounding in my head. As if someone was pounding on a door begging to be let out. It was getting louder with each minute. He could see that I was gritting my teeth and that my forehead was clenched in concentration, trying to hold it back for as long as possible.

At this he shook his head still keeping up with me as we ran, "They all came of their own free will. They all want to help you, I want to help you! Just jump over to us!"

If I could scream in frustration I would, "I can't! I can't control it, I won't let you all die!" At these words I was speechless to myself. I barely knew the Cullen's and yet these words rang true. I knew that if Edward died, for some unknown reason I'd be heartbroken. I have to protect them. The Cullen's, the wolves, Edward.

I must insulate myself. I glanced all around me looking for something that can keep my earth shattering voice contained. Not seeing anything, I started to focus on my hearing. A few miles to the right I could hear the sound of water, a large amount of it too. Bigger than the river that was dividing the Cullen's and myself. If I swam deep enough, my voice may not penetrate the surface. With a decision made I looked over at the Cullen's, they were keeping up with me, putting in all their effort and strength to save me. Again. I felt grateful. Then I locked eyes with Edward again.

This time I didn't let him read my thoughts, without making a single sound I mouthed to him "I'm sorry" and took off in the other direction leading only the wolves away from the Cullen's. Since they weren't already jumping over the river when they saw me, I came to the conclusion that they wouldn't follow if I stayed on this side of the river and went a different way.

"Rever!"

"Where is she going!?"

"She's going to get herself killed!"

I could hear them yelling out to me but I kept going.
