First thought I had when I woke up at 2 am was first day at my new school...I'm gonna die! . Now I'm standing on my balcony an hour later still awake. I pull my sweater tighter around me as the breeze goes past making me shiver. I look up at the full moon and take a picture, then another of the forest under it's light.
I decide to sneak out and take a jog through the forest, hoping it'll calm me down enough to sleep, so I slip on my blue converse. Luckily there's a trolley beside the balcony going to the ground, making getting down without waking anyone easier.
I make my way to the trees and start daydreaming as I take pictures, so before I know it I'm at the river. The moon light's shining off the water making everything look like something from a fairytale. I sit on a patch of grass just taking it all in when there's movement across the river. Right away my mind goes back to the bear that was here on Saturday, but then see the face of a wolf coming through the bushes.
I gasp at the sight of it and straight away reach for Marcus around my neck, taking a picture before it could run away.
From this side of the river all I can see is it's eyes. A vibrant blue with green. It's fur is such a dark brown it looks black. It looks bigger then a normal sized wolf but I'm too far to tell. That was until I watched it back away a few feet, then run and jump over the river. I was shocked so I didn't get a picture of it.
Now with it only about 5 feet away from me I could tell that it was definitely bigger then a normal wolf, about double the size. It looks over and lifts it paw towards me. Mimicking it I rest on my knees and bring my hand up reaching for it.
"I don't know about you but I promise not to bite." I'm not sure whether it heard me, but I guess it did because next thing I know, I'm on my back with the wolf on my belly licking my face.
I laugh at it's playfulness, and roll it off me sitting up. I look over and see it's- sorry HE'S belly up wagging his tail around.
"Okay okay I'll play." What felt like minutes turned out to be hours as I play with him, because next thing I know I can see the sky getting lighter, getting ready for the sun to come up. I take one last picture of him then turn to leave, but see he's right beside me.
"You gonna walk me home boy?" I pat his head and is replied with a lick on my fingers.
Soon later I can see my house through the trees and turn to the wolf.
"This is me. I've always wanted a dg when I was little, so I'm gonna pretend you're mine. Hmm... how about it... Rex?" He licks the side of my face, "I'll take that as a yes! Later Rex." I kiss the top of his head and go back up the trolley to my balcony.
Before I close my doors I see Rex still watching me from the woods.
"Rex's "P.O.V
Sooner then I wanted the woods came to an end. I don't get it, what is it with her that I become mush when she's around.
"This is me. I've always wanted a dg when I was little, so I'm gonna pretend you're mine. Hmm... how about it... Rex?" I lick the side of her face to let her know I was cool with it.
"I'll take that as a yes! Later Rex." She kisses the top of my head, and walks back to her house, oblivious to what she just did.
Sparks, a pull, yearning, those are only some of things my mom told me to look out for after I turned 18.
She told me that whoever made me feel all those, it meant that they were my mate.
When she kissed my head I felt it all. Everything I was warned to look out for.
