I decided to expose the first piece of the chapter, cause why not. I won't upload the rest until it's finished 😏

I hugged my knees to my chest, as I sat against the wall of a dark alley way.  It felt like my heart was being torn apart, and my head was spinning.  I needed to get away from that house, where all the memories of my beloved family were.  I always considered moving, but I promised my parents to always cherish our home.  My head throbbed at that thought.  Last week, my school was being evacuated because some cult was invading our city.  As my parents and 5 year old sister were coming to pick me up, they were hit by another driver in the panic. I remember hearing the news from my math teacher, and I felt so numb and empty inside. I don't even remember how I survived.
Tears splattered on the cement and I hugged my legs tighter.  My heart beat quickly, and I almost let my anger take over, but I contained myself.  Reality always struck me like a cobra, but I tucked my emotions away, even from my friends and family.
I tucked my ginger pixie cut behind my ear.  Nowadays, telling friends your feelings wasn't an option.  I was alone, and the only people I knew were the jerks who lived a couple blocks from my house.  Only other teenagers like me were left in the city, and Lucinda and her group were included, unfortunately.
"Hey, Autumn.  Crying over your mommy and daddy again? Pathetic.  I got over it a day after the invasion."
A deep, familiar voice came from my left; of course it was Lucinda. Her minions snickered. Lucinda was wearing a black, lacy shirt and a red, short skirt. Her shoes were black flats and she had an overload of makeup on. The three other girls in her gang were wearing the same outfit, but with different colored skirts.
"At least I actually care about my family." I snapped.
Lucinda flipped her long, brown hair off of her shoulder, "I do care about my family, I just don't whine about them being gone.  Anyways, I came here for a reason. Not JUST to torture you."
I stood, "What else could you possibly want from me?"
"Oh you know, it's not like you stole my cell phone or anything." Lucinda's voice rose.
Victoria and Veronica, the almost identical twins, stepped forward, holding out their phones.
Veronica, the brown haired twin, laughed, "We tracked down Lucinda's phone with our phones. It led here."
Their phones displayed a map with a red dot where Lucinda's phone was supposed to be.
    I protested, "But-"
"No buts," Victoria, the twin with black hair, said sharply, "We know you have it. So give it to us."
"Give it to me," Lucinda glared at the twins, "Or I'll make sure you never see the light of day again."
I backed away slowly from Lucinda's squad, but a tall, muscly blonde boy, called Alex (also apart of Lucinda's group), stood behind me, blocking the way out. I DEFINITELY didn't have her phone, but I knew Lucinda wouldn't believe me until she beat me to a pulp.
Lucinda walked up to me until we were and inch apart, her warm breath that smelled like bubblegum, puffing into my face, "I don't want any excuses, because I know for a fact you snuck into my apartment and took my phone. So, to make it easier for you AND me, hand me the phone, or your pretty face won't look so pretty anymore."
Sweat dripped from my forehead, and my stomach felt like it was in knots.  I analyzed my options; A: I could book it, but there was a slim chance I could escape.  B: I could start a fight, and try to knock Lucinda AND her gang out, but that probably wasn't going to happen, especially because I have tiny noodle arms and don't stand a chance against Alex.
I tried stalling instead, "You know, why do you even need a phone? Is it really THAT important?"
Quin, a newbie to Lucinda's group, spoke up, "Oh my gosh Lucinda, teach her a lesson already!"
"Shut up Quin, don't speak unless I tell you to!" Lucinda's face turned red with rage, "Alright, Autumn, I've given you enough time for you to return what belongs to me. Your such an insignificant little brat."
Suddenly, it felt as if something else took over my body,  like a whole different person with different emotions, but I could still see what I was doing. Lucinda threw a punch, but I (or whatever was controlling me) grabbed her wrist before her fist met my face.  Her expression was covered with shock, and this mysterious force decided to take full control and kick Lucinda in the shin. She screeched in pain, and fell to the ground.  Lucinda's group stood in awe.  My regular self gained control, so I took the opportunity and ran for it. They didn't chase after me.

I burst through the front door of my house, breathless, and locked it quickly.
What was that all about? I wondered.
I regained my breath, and turned to looked at the house. As you walk in, you meet the living room. To the right of the living room is the bright, white kitchen. A door on the side of the kitchen leads to the music room.
