Once again I’m looking at my gormless reflection in the mirror doing my makeup, who needs make up to go to the cinema anyway.  Apparently I do.  Once finished I sit on the shut lid of the toilet twiddling my thumbs waiting... They say women take ages to get ready!   I bet he’s doing his hair.

“I’ll be ready in a minute!” he shouts, I swear that man can read my mind.  I smile to myself gazing down at my left hand.  My thumb slides under my middle and forefinger to turn the diamond engagement ring.  Evie Sheehan engaged who would have thought it.

“Hey, you ready to go?” he smiles down at me, he was definitely doing his hair.  I move up to greet him, taking his hand firmly.

“Come on. Let’s go.”

“I smuggled these in for us” I giggle quietly as the adverts roll, pulling out bags of store brought popcorn and sweets.

“You can’t do that! We’ll get chucked out!” The shock on his face is hilarious as I delve into the bag shovelling several bits of popcorn down my neck.

“Oh shh. The prices for their popcorn and sweets are extortionate” I mumble trying to tackle more of the popcorn.  “If you’re willing to pay five pound for a small popcorn then be my guest!” I smirk poking his cheek with my finger.

“You’re such a troublemaker!” he replies sticking his tongue out at me playfully.

“None of that, the movie’s starting” I giggle girlishly, setting my head down on his shoulder.

Halfway through the movie and I think I’ve taken a liking to Matt Lanter, it’d be better if a pair of idiots weren’t messing about chucking popcorn at people down at the front.  I’m not the confrontational sort anymore but whoever they are if they don’t stop it I’ll give them a piece of my mind.

My hand grips against the arm rest of the seat as they continue to throw things, I hate people like them if you’re going to mess around go home and watch a film instead of interrupting everyone else.

“Evie, are you ok?”

I turn to see a face of concern searching my own, the blue eyes flick to my hand still grasping the arm rest angrily.

“I’m fine..” I sigh pushing the irritation down beneath the surface.  His hand rubs my back soothingly and I settle back down to watch the film skilfully ignoring the idiots in the seat in front.

“Babe, the movie’s finished. Are you ok?” a familiar voice draws my attention away from the screen to his face once more earning him a smile.

“Yeah, fancy a drink before we go home?”

Not again. I don’t like pubs and stuff like that, I’d rather go home and watch tv than this, but for arguments sake I agree and we’re off to the pub. Once again.

**

I hate this place, our local full of creepy old men and skanky barmaids.  I have no idea why he likes it here,  he says it’s the atmosphere what?  So stinking ancient men and larger lout lads swearing after every word is a good atmosphere is it?  Hmm, everything’s so different now, I didn’t think things could change so much in 365 days but it has and I’m happy so I can’t really complain.

“Evie?”

“Yeah, sorry what were you saying?” through all my criticizing I was ignoring him.  An arm wraps around my lower back pulling me towards him, his face searches mine for a second before speaking.
