Chapter 22

“She didn’t mean anything to me….She wasn’t the one I see in my dreams..”

 
(Chris POV)

Trying to explain anything to Sweets when she was mad is like talking to a wall! I didn’t mean to hurt her and I don’t even know why I was over at Teresa’s house in the first place. I guess I was bored and really didn’t expect Sweets to call me back until the next morning so when she did call that really bugged me out! I didn’t even stick around when Sweets hung up...I just ran out Teresa’s house and left her calling my name from her porch! I mean Tee was cool, sexy and really a sweet girl but she wanted more from me and my heart was just well still with Sweets.

It’s been really weird between me and Sweets for the last 3 weeks. She mostly talks about random shit and every single time I try to bring up what happened she doesn’t want to talk about it. I know she thinks I’m sleeping with the girl she heard but she’s wrong. So now I feel weird telling her about any of the females because I don’t want her to get mad.

But it aint right!

It was her idea to just be friends again. I mean how am I supposed to go back to being her friend after I've shown her I'm in love with her? Man I don’t know but what I do know is I want her back and I’m ready to do just that.

When I arrived at JFK airport I called her to see if she would meet me at Tina’s. She was excited which was a relief because of how things have been between us. I decided to move to NY while I started doing development and working with a vocal coach for my album. Jive hooked me up with some dope producers so I was ready to get started! I was a little sad tho because I had to leave during the season but my coach said he understood and wished me the best so that was cool. All the homies and my cousins were sad to see me go but I had to make moves. The Tapp gonna always be home cause I’mma always be that pissy boy from VA!

I got snapped out of my thoughts when Momma said “There she is.” I looked up and she was the most beautiful thing walking down the sidewalk.

“B!” She yelled running up to me and giving me a huge hug.

“Hey Shorty!” I said squeezing her tight.

She felt good and smelled so good...

“Your accent is so thick now.” She said laughing.

“Yeah mayne.” I said popping my shirt.

“Oh my God did you get taller?” She asked laughingly.

“Yeah I think so but it ain't hard to be taller than you anyway!” I said placing my hand on top of her head.

“You know what you still boney so it doesn’t matter.” She said pushing me and laughing.

“What? I done got thicker…Besides you already know I make up for that wit my di-…Heeey Momma!” I said stopping as Momma gave Sweets a hug.

“Whatever Chris…How you been Helena?” Momma said hugging her.

“I’ve been good.” She said sticking her tongue out at me.

“You look so pretty…You coming in or are you guys gonna disappear?” Momma asked.

“Thank you…Well we were gonna meet TJ and Shay at my house then go to the movies or something…If that’s ok?” Sweets asked.

“Yeah of course…Chris you just be back here by 1:30 am.” Momma said patting me on the arm.

“Really? Ok I will!” I said giving her a kiss on the cheek and then grabbing Sweets hand.

“1:30 Chris!” She reminded.
