I am holding a circle tonight. I need to find the one. I feel their power, it's so strong. Who are they? How can I convince them to join us?

~Saturday Evening~

Blair picked me up and started to drive to the party on the road that leads out of town. " Hey Bree, did Emma help you with your clothes? They're actually fashionable!" Blair joked.

At that I mocked being indignant, " No she did not," Then I stopped and smiled, " Who am I kidding, she practically dressed me herself."

"Will you grab the directions and tell me where to turn?" Blair asked, handing the directions to me. As I read the directions to her I saw that they ended in the middle of nowhere.

"He said to park under that willow tree over there," as I said that I noticed the other cars parked next to the tree. I saw Raven and Caleb, the misfits, Jenna, one of the populars (Blair included), Sharon, Kenya, and Robbie the geniuses( I'm one of them), Matt and Lexi, the two kindest people in our school, and Luke's car.

As we climbed out of Blair's car wondering where to go,  Blair saw a trampled down path through the woods to our right. "There's no other marked path around. We might as well follow this one," she reasoned. "The worst that could happen is that we're late to the party."

As we started off we were caught in a bright beam of light. After it passed, I turned to see Sam and Erin walk up to us, Erin and Sam are loners. They hang out together but don't have a group.

Soon enough we saw a crackling fire in a clearing and heard soft voices talking. We followed the path toward the flames and saw everyone there except Luke. Kenya patted a spot on the log next to her and called out to me. A few minutes after we got settled Luke appeared out of the woods as silent as a cat.

Luke held a jug of something in front of him a paced it on the table. "Here's some cider for those of you who don't want to drink."

After about half an hour of just talking and hanging out,  Luke announced, "Today is a special holiday in my religion and I was wondering if you would have a special Mabon circle with me. It doesn't mean that you're going against your religion or anything and I get if you don't want to, " at this he looked so sad it was heartbreaking,  "but if you stay I bet it would be great," He started smiling.

After a few seconds of stunned silence, Kenya got up and said, "Sorry but I, um, I got to go home for something but, er, it's been, uh, really great hanging out with you... - yeah bye." Then she walked as quickly as she could with out running away.

After a few more seconds of quiet Matt announced, "Well that was nice but I just remembered that I had... oh! I have a paper due for science and I have to go finish it."

As if he expected that might happen,  Luke asked, " Anyone else?" we all shook our heads almost in unison. "Well then let's get started!"

Luke started to draw a giant circle that was almost perfect he left it open asked us to step inside then closed it. Almost to himself he muttered, "With this salt I purify this circle." We held hands and I noticed I was standing closest to Luke's hand. His hand was warm and comfortable in mine.

After that was done, he told us to move deasil (clockwise) and repeat after him. Then he started chanting, " Thanks to the Goddess."We repeated.

"Thanks to the God" and again we repeated.

"Today night and day are balanced, " Luke continued, "Today the sun enters the sign of Libra, the balance. Now we will start banishing. Raven, you start and Bree ends."

"I banish fear." I was a bit surprised by this,  but who knows what goes on in her head.

     "I banish anger." Sharon whispered.

"I banish my stepmother. " Sam said laughing.

" I banish idiots. " Lexi calls out. Wierd, she doesn't seem so nice anymore.

"I banish poverty. " Wow Robbie's so sweet.

"I banish mosquitos." Ugh! Erin is such an idiot.

All throughout this Caleb was snickering. Then he calls out, " I banish bad stuff." Wow so intelligent.

Suddenly Jenna says, "I banish using other people." Probably referring to homework.

Blair's voice is loud in my ear as she says "I banish longing."

I was waiting for the next person to say what they banished and I realized it was my turn. In a rush I shout, "I banish limitations." Then we lift our hands in the sky and stop spinning in the circle. Then I got a huge wave of dizziness and a headache. I must have tripped over my own feet because I was on the ground and the world was spinning around me.

Suddenly Cal was there. He was helping me ground myself, having me lay on my back and saying something about letting the energy flow into the earth.

Then just as we started to leave and go our separate ways, Cal made eye contact with me across the clearing and whispered,  "I banish loneliness. "
