"The theory of how human's first came into existence and somehow survived is quite interesting when tracing back to..."

My hands automatically moved to take notes, writing down every key point the teacher mentioned. So far, my notes had reached seven pages since class started. Ink had gotten onto my fingers and smudged most of my words, but it was still legible. Well, to me, at least.

It was normal for me to leave school with nearly a booklet full of notes from each class. Maybe it was too much or not necessary, but reviewing the notes was calming and distracting. And also, overall, beneficial to my grade in class.

Philosophy class favored my attention. The way the teacher's voice flowed with the words was not only interesting and hypnotic, but the subject was the most interesting compared to my other classes.

The bell rang, causing me to frown in disappointment, my reaction drastically different from my classmates. They cheered as the teacher rolled his eyes and told them to study well.

Being that most of my stationery was out on the desk, it took me awhile to pack my things up and leave. I shuffled my papers together neatly and placed them in their correct folders. Last year I had just shoved my notes in any binder, but that turned out to make things way more stressful.

By the time I was finished zipping my backpack, almost everybody had fled the room and left to go home. Expect for the teacher, and the student currently face down asleep on his desk. It wasn't new. He was like that nearly everyday, and if he wasn't, he didn't come to class to begin with.

"Ah, Ha-Seon," the teacher, Mr. Demetriou, stopped me before I could walk out. He smiled at me brightly.

Mr. Demetriou was from another country and had traveled here to teach at my school. He always stopped me before leaving to speak to me in English. I guess he was happy to speak comfortably in his own native language for once.

But, then again, I couldn't complain. Him doing so helped my practice my own English. Essentially, he had boosted my grade and even made me seem fluent.

"Did you take pages of notes again?" Mr. Demetriou asked slowly. I smiled, happy that I understood his question quickly.

"Yes," I answered in English, "this lesson was very interesting. I hope to learn more."

He was about to respond but a loud snore interrupted our conversation. The source of the inhuman snore came from the boy who was still face-down on the desk. Mr. Demetriou was frowning when I turned back to face him.

"He's always asleep or absent," he said in a disappointed tone, "I've tried to get after him, but the more I tell him, the more he doesn't do anything."

"Oh," was all I could say about this matter. The boy had barely gotten my attention, being that he never bothered speaking to anybody or anyone for anything. And if he did, it was because somebody had disturbed him or he was asking for answers.
