"Chad Williams!" Mindy Manson beams over all the 12 districts.
What? The first out of fifty tributes?
I walk up to the stage trying to look tough. How are you supposed to get sponsors crying your eyes out like a baby? i'm twelve by the way and I'm from district 2.
Oh yeah! this is the second quarter quell and there are going to be fifty tributes in the games. yada yada yada, the point is out of almost 1000 kids, I'm the first to get picked.
Wait! did I just hear Meagan Sparks? I did! No not her! Come on someone volunteer!
"No!!!" I yell. great, there goes my sponsors. but i cant help myself. "She's too young to die!" I yell.
The next thing I know I'm getting dragged into the capitol building.
"Are you ready to go back on stage and watch the others get reaped?" A peace-keeper asks.
Sure. is all I could say, my thought clogged up with sobs.
MARCUS'S P.O.V.
Chad comes back on stage, his face stained red with tears.
I was his only friend, yeah I was seventeen, but we were close.
No volunteers, so if I could I would volunteer for him.
"Marcus Manson!" my sister yells, face filling with tears.
I walk up stage glad that I got reaped.
Yeah it's kinda weird that I'm glad I got reaped, but I will save Chad.
"Marcus when did you get reaped? Chad asked."
"Just a few seconds ago I'm here to save you." I promised him
"Will you be my ally?" Chad asked
"Yes, I promise."
