Cory's POV

I look around at all their faces. Shelby's has the most doubt and that's worrying. Please, please, please believe me! I know what I heard!

I was following Nova and Shelby. They knew I was with them a while ago but it seems as if they've forgotten I was here. They stop walking infront of me and Nova kisses Shelby's hand. "See you later, beautiful." Nova says before walking off. Shelby blushes, giggles, and plays with her hair a little bit before walking off in the other direction. I see Shelby is heading towards the others so I assume she'll be fine and sneakily follow Nova.

He heads to the main building and heads down a hallway I never noticed before. He stops at a bookcase against the wall near the end of the hallway and looks around so I quickly hide inside one of the empty rooms nearby. I peek out just in time to see him push the bookcase aside and walk into a secret room, closing the door behind him. I walk over and try to quietly open the door but it's locked. I mumble to myself, a little annoyed, and put my ear against the door.

I hear Nova and someone else talking but I can't hear everything they're saying. What I did hear was: "... new group, ....'.. ......... ... Holders .. .... told .....!" "No ..., ..... have ......! ... same powers ....... said .... had!" ".. ... think .... recognize ..? I mean, ...... .. say .. look . ... like her." ".. they ... noticed .... ..... .. left .. now, .....? .... obviously ..... .. ....... . little bit! ...'. take .... chance .. ..... their .......... and then ..'.. strike!" "Ha, ...... good .. me!" My eyes widened. Are they planning against us? I... I've got to warn the others!

After an agonizingly long time (atleast those 5 minutes seemed like they took ages) everyone smiled at me. "We believe you!" They all said, even Shelby which made me the happiest person alive. Max suddenly got serious. "Right, since it's obvious they're going to attack us, we need to leave as soon as possible! Do you all have all your stuff?" Jess looked like she was about to speak up and say something but she stopped herself and nodded like everyone else. "Did any of you steal some of the food they gave us?" Adam blushed a little in embarrassment and opened up a bag full of sandwiches, random snacks, and leftover lasagna for us to see. "Does anyone have weapons we can use to protect ourselves?" No one had anything on them we could use as a weapon. Max groaned, "fine! We'll leave at the first sign of moonli-" "leaving so soon?" We all look to see Nova and Star standing at the entrance of the room. Neither seem happy.

Everyone backed up a little bit and they took several steps towards us. "RUN!" Someone yells, I don't know who but the moment we heard that we all ran for our lives. We ran out the building as an alarm started going off and all the nearby guards started to chase after us. Adam grabbed Jin and Ross' hands since they were falling behind and started flying so they could keep up with us. I was starting to get tired but I kept running and pushed myself hard so I wouldn't fall behind. After a while we make it out of that horrid place and run into the nearby forest. I hear a girly yelp so I look behind me to see that at Shelby tripped but was back up and still managing to keep up with us. After a while it became obvious we had lost them so we slow down and eventually stop running, or flying in Adam's case. Instantly my legs give out beneath me and I fall down. The world starts to become weird colors around me and I was breathing heavily while Jin does roll call. Shelby answers for me saying "he's here" when Jin says my name. I zone out temporarily before snapping back to reality in time to hear, "wait, where's Max?" before I pass out.
