My mornings starts basic and boring like any other usual day. My alarmed buzzed loudly in my ear to awake me for my exhausting repeat of a school day. Normal routine of getting a shower, getting dressed, eating breakfast and then leaving. Excpet this morning, that didn't happen, because my alarm didn't go off.

I juttled awake from the sound of my door slamming against my wall.

"Rai! Get up, get up, get up. Your gonna be late for school, and now I'm gonna be late for work!"

My mom ran frantically towards my bed and began shaking my viciously. She was wearing her uniform for the police station. And yes my moms a cop and has been a great one for the past seven years.

"Okay, okay, I'm up."

She rushed out of my room without even saying anything else, like good morning, or how did you sleep. That really shows how loving she is.

I pulled my self off the side of my bed and limped to my closet and rummaged some random clothes out. I honestly didn't care what I picked. My watch showed me I didn't have time for a shower so I went ahead and changed in my room, and then brushed my teeth. In the mirror I show a short girl with an oily face and  crappy hair. My eyes were druppy from being tired and staying awake last night. So I cleaned up and headed down stairs to my over dramatic mother.

I found her in the kitchen scribbling down things onto our grocery list. I pushed past her and opened the fridge door to find no food what so ever. All I saw was an almost empty bottle of orange juice and a stick of butter. My mom turned towards me and dropped her pen and paper onto the table

"That's what your wearing?"

I shrugged and poured the rest of the orange juice into a cup.

"Whats wrong with my clothes? I'm not trying to impress anyone."

She chuckled and rolled her eyes.

"Well here, you'll need to go shopping after school, because I'll be working late."

I moved to sit across from her at our kitchen island.

"Again, you worked late last night."

She pasted over the grocery list which was quite long with a lot of uneeded item on it.

"I know, but my boss has been needing more work around the office lately. Listen I need you to make sure to get all of those groceries tonight okay? As you can see we're running out of food."

She stood up and gestured towards the fridge.

"Oh, I also need you to stop by the post house today, and if you could straigten up the house it needs cleaning. You'll most likely have to make dinner tonight, I've got too much work to do."

She rushed around the counter to her keys and jacket, I follwed her as we went out the door to her car.

"You do realize I have a life too right? I've gotta have time to study."

She sighed and unlocked the car.

"You can have Laural over to help clean up and study, but everything better be done by the time I'm home. I've already got way to much going on at the station right now."

She turned on the radio to the news and immediately News reporters started ranting about some guy on the streets.

"Today we have encounter this man, Levi Jewerson, he seems to be counter down from the high thousands. Nobody has any clue what he is counting down to, nor do we know why. There are been reports that he's been here since Friday night. 82,437, 82,436, 82,435, 82,434"

I glanced at my mom who was looking nervous than usual.

"Sounds like a creep to me."

"Yeah the usual odd balls that appear on the news, but that's the News job, to find unusual appearances."

I shrugged as we arrived to my school. I told her goodbye and hoped out. She was right, I was late for class, only by like 5 minutes though. Plus it was only Monday, not a big deal, just less grading for the teachers.

My face pressed against my fist as I stared at the clock above the teachers head. Only 2 minutes until the final bell rung, and then I'd have to go suffer through shopping. Luckly though, afterwards I'd have my best friend with me. I think my mon thought of Larual as one of her own because she let her come over whenever. Some times she would invited her over herself.

The clock ticked 2:11, and it was time to escape. I gathered my things from my chair and left the building. Since I had to shop and mom had the car, that means I have to walk to the store. I didn't mind though, I love to walk places, the you can enjoy your surrondings. Such as the cherry blossum trees in front of the sun creating a beautiful shadow that loomed across the street. I could smell the spring flowers that layered the grass.

Finally I reached the store and pulled out the grocery list. There were a lot of basic healthy meals that my mom loved. She was one of those crazy dieting people, who always trying the weird crazy stuff. Like what about your kid that doesn't want to try any of that. I laughed at my own thought and started to notice stares from people.

I continued on with my shopping and once I finished, I loaded up a rental bike and biked to the post house. It wasn't much farther from the store or my house. Our town was small and cozy so everything is close by. I normally walk to school but since I was late, that why my mom took me. I entered the post house and grab the mail from box number 67. Two letters. One for my mom, and the other for me. I didn't reconzie who sent it. The address had no name. That's a little weird. I never get letters. I decided to opened it in the post house just incase it was some weird threat note, I needed witnesses.  I used my finger to rip open the top part and inside was normal notebook line paper. It was folded neatly and very thin. I unwrapped it, and the words inside were cursive and small. I wasn't the best at reading cursive, but what I got out of it was,

My name is not imporant, but you should know that the count down has begun. Do not go on the News, and do not listen to the rumors. Do not listen to your mum. What ever you do, do not listen.
