Morgan POV.
"What do you think mom has to tell us though?" Nicole said pulling up into the driveway.
"I hope something exciting, like a summer vacation" I said as I got out the car, holding my books.
"A beach would be nice" Nicole said, getting out and pulling her bag strap up to her shoulders.
As we walked inside, we were greeted by our mother, standing at the island drinking coffee.
"So you both know I have a surprise for you guys... You're going on a vacation" she said, putting down her cup.
"Really?! Where?!" I said eagerly.
"A beach?! Hawaii?! Florida?!" Nicole said, coming up with endless ideas.
"...Chicago. To visit your father"
Our mom and got a divorce a couple of years ago... because my mom cheated, which I think were for all the right reasons. He wanted to treat us like prisoners because he's a "pastor". But really didn't think of us, but would always talk about the "Good Lord" 24/7.
"I can't wait!" Nicole said, jumping in excitement.
What? No. This is not my type of vacation. I love my dad, but no. We barely talk. But, Nicole on the other hand talks to dad almost everyday. All they talk about is basketball. Basketball this. Basketball that.
I stood there, staring blankly. Showing no emotions at all.
"Aren't you excited Morgan?!" Nicole said, shaking me.
I faked a believable smile and nodded. I had to at leat act liked I was because I know how much this means to her. "Well yeah, I guess it's pretty exciting."
She hugged me really tight and rushed down the hallway to our room. I glanced at my mom.
"Morgan, it's gonna be alright. Your dad may be strict, but try to have as much fun as you can." She gave me a hopeful grin and walked into the living room.
"I'll try," I called after her and walked down the hall to my room. Being a twin may seem like fun, but it's not. Especially when your twin is the basketball star. I walked past Nicole's room to see her folding her basketball shorts and placing her shoes in a straight line. I chuckled to myself and walked into my room.
I sat on my bed and looked around. We were nothing alike. She had basketball shoes and hung out with a bunch of AP kids. I had sandals and hung out with the best known people in school. It shocked people to find out we were sisters, let alone twins.
My thoughts were cut off when a yellow tank top got thrown in my face. "It was in my laundry," Nicole commented, walking in my room with her hair in bun, "Why haven't you started packing?"
I sat the tank top next to me and got up. "Okay okay. I'm packing Nicki. Calm down. It's not like we're leaving tonight," I replied as I walked to my closet. I began picking out random tops and bottoms for this "vacation."
"I just asked mom and she said we were leaving tomorrow morning around 6. So that means you'll have to wake your ass up."
"Whoa, I don't think so." I gave the clothes to her and dragged my luggage from under my bed. "Morgan needs her beauty sleep."
She placed them on the bed and laughed. "Well Morgan better beauty sleep her way into waking up early because we have to leave." And with that, she walked out.
I groaned loudly and a loud, "I love you too!" from Nicole came after. I started folding my clothes and packing the rest of everything that I would need for two and half months. I wasn't too keen on seeing my father, but I had no choice at this point.
