Response to "Gimme Gimme Chicken Tendies"

By: Anonymous 4Chan User

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you would turn to betraying the people who you are closest to in life? This anonymous user from the popular website 4Chan decided to explore this idea through a very comedic poem he submitted to the website. The user uses different variations of a common internet meme called Pepe the Frog and his desire to get his favorite food, chicken tenders, and will even go to the greatest lengths to get his wonderful and favored snack.

The main character, Pepe, starts off by showing his want for his most desired snack by saying, "Gimme gimme chicken tendies," By using this as the first line of the poem the author immediately tells the reader that the main character is in want of his "chicken tendies" and uses a happy tone to show that Pepe is calm and awaits his snack. We can also see that Pepe truly loves chicken tenders when he says "Tendies are my heart's true desire," We are also able to characterize Pepe as a child because it seems only a child's heart's true desire would be chicken tenders. We also are able to see that Pepe is a child when he calls chicken tenders "chicken tendies" in a childish way. We know that the main character loves all types of chicken tenders and that it doesn't matter where they are from when he says, "Be they crispy or from Wendys," and, "McDonald's, Hardee's, Popeye's, Cane's, But of my tendies none remains,"

After a while Pepe starts to become angry because his mother isn't taking him to his desired treats. He expects his tenders because he has been a good boy and expects a reward for his hard work while helping his mother. "Spend my hard-earned good-boy points, on Kid's Meal ball pit burger joints," But when he realizes that his mother is not going to give him a reward he suddenly turns on her and begins screaming. But at first, he suspects that his mother doesn't know about his desire so he thinks to himself, "Did mummy think that I'd just ate?" But once he realizes that he won't be getting his beloved treat he gets angry and screams, "TENDIES TENDIES GET THEM NOW, YOU FAT, UNGRATEFUL, SLUGGISH SOW!" This would be the climax of the poem and it shows how even the most peaceful and relaxed person can turn on anyone, even their loved ones, in order to reach and acquire their hearts true desire.

During the end of the poem we see how Pepe retaliates against his mother to get his tendies and how far someone will actually go to get what they love. This ending sentence shows the emotional and physical battle between Pepe and his mother. After screaming at his mother about his beloved tendie treats he then proceeds to do as follows, "I screech while hurling into her eyes, My foul-smell bowel-dwelling diaper surprise." This is then followed by a quote from Pepe himself telling his mother to never forget his tendies again, "For she who is un-pooped on is she who remembers: Never forget my chicken tenders."

In conclusion, the anonymous 4chan user uses a famous internet meme to show how selfish a person really can be when it comes to getting what they truly want. Even though it was in a very childish and comedic manner this poem was still able to convey the message about how selfish someone can be.
