White eyed butterfly

He stared at her from behind his thick dark shades that covered his eyes, which he longed to show to her but naturally he couldn't, she was a treasure, a rare butterfly he couldn't have on top of this she'd never like him, he knew what they called him 'Bug boy.' or 'Creep.' yes he knew well. Just because he and the raven haired beauty were team mates didn't mean he didn't assume she wasn't disgusted by the fact he was a human hive, even if she was so kind to him and his insects.

The closer Shino looked at her from behind the pitch black lenses the more he grew to love her, Hinata, this beautiful butterfly. Shino often found himself dreaming of her pale eyes, the lilac hue that was visible in them, he often admired the dark eyelashes that framed such eyes, eyes that held such warmth, even when she looked at him. He admired her soft pink lips which always smiled at him, the candy dusting across her porcelain cheeks, all this beauty framed by raven hair; which had a blue shine to it and bangs that fell to each side of her face, the rest of her hair rested at her waist.

Shino didn't want to think about her body, he'd never had feelings like this before, he'd never fallen so hard or even at all. Her body was perfect, all her training had paid off, she had a sizable chest, a small waist that lead to wide hips and long slender legs and worse Naruto had finally noticed and claimed her as his own, but Shino was happy if his stardust moth was happy.

Naruto, that reminded Shino, Naruto was certainly handsome and he couldn't possibly compete for Hinata's love with him, Shino was just Shino, dark shades a very high collar and a hood, his face wasn't even visible, except during the war however. Shino watched Naruto stride in confidently and sighed inwardly, he was going to Hinata even he knew that but suddenly Shino moved without thinking, reaching out to Hinata as she was about to take Naruto's hand.

"Hinata." Shino suddenly recognised his own deep voice.

"S-Shino-Kun...?" Hinata asked hesitantly, looking at my hand that was reaching for her which he immediately let drop to his side.

Shino didn't respond, instead he stared down at the fresh grass, he heard Hinata ask him if something was wrong her worried voice swimming in his thoughts, causing his emotions to ripple. Shino stepped back, his dark eyebrows furrowed before he heard Naruto laugh and state simply 'Shino is just being Shino!' But Shino knew that Naruto had known how he felt for Hinata as he watched her take Naruto's hand and be pulled away.

"I love you." Shino sighed deeply, his hive humming sadly.

Shino would have to watch his white eyed butterfly fly away once more, he was sure that one day his beloved wouldn't return, he wondered absently if she felt his pain as he watched her white eyes glance back at him.

"No, she deserves Naruto." He murmured then corrected himself "She deserves to be happy."
