Chapter 5
"Who here has seen 'What happens in Vegas'?" I asked the crowd, trying to interact with them more. Most of them raised up their hands.
"Ah, it's a classic movie, isn't it? For those who haven't seen it yet, it's about these two people who need a break and escape from reality. These two individuals decide to go to Las Vegas to have fun. The next thing they know, they wake up on the same bed, naked, married, and a 3-million dollar to stay married." I didn't give too much detail to avoid spoilers.
"Wala lang," I shrugged my shoulders when their eyes were on me, "gusto ko lang i-promote yung movie that came out almost a decade ago." I said while laughing.
"Joke lang. But you guys should watch it. Good storyline and good actors. Cameron Diaz & Ashton Kutcher, two of the most good-looking people on Earth. Okay, enough promoting. Yung love story kasi nila parang story nila mom and dad, except it didn't happen in Vegas. Just some bar in Q.C. and there was no 3 million dollars to stay together, just a kid name Tristan."
"Mommy and Dada have this kind of love/hate relationship. Hindi mo sila pwede pagsamahing dalawa na hindi nagtatalo. Pero kahit ganun, they still tried to get along for me."
I felt my left foot getting tired after putting so much weight on it, so I changed my position and stood still when I realized I've been slouching for awhile.
"This story that I'm about to tell you is probably one of the most funny and kilig ones."

He was standing behind the curtains with his fellow classmates. Their performance was about to start really soon and he could already feel his hands shaking and teeth chattering. Every year, the school organizes a fair and performances for teachers, students, and their parents to enjoy. Every year, Tristan joins the choir and performs at the school fair. Though he was still nervous, he was also excited because not only that his mom would be there to watch him, but his dad as well. For the first time.
"Five more minutes, guys! We're going to start soon." Their choir teacher reminded them.
Tristan peeked outside the curtain, there were already a lot of parents and teachers seated. He smiled when he saw his mom sitting in the front row. Karylle looked up just in time and grinned at her son, mouthing the words "good luck" then giving him two thumbs up to encourage him. Tristan smiled, but it slowly faded when he noticed the empty seat next to his mom.
Karylle looked around, searching for that person that made Tristan frown. She shook her head in annoyance. Nasaan na ba yung baklang yon? Kahit kailan talaga hindi maasahan maging maaga. She said to herself.
"Hi, is this seat taken?" Karylle looked up to the familiar voice and rolled her eyes at the man (?) that was smiling at her.
"Buti naman dumating ka. Akala ko sa closing ceremony ka na dadating." She said coldly and looked front.
Vice took the seat next to her, "Nag start na ba si bagets?"
"Ayan na, magsisimula na."
After the teacher's introduction, the curtains finally opened, revealing the choir team. Tristan was standing in the front, he looked so stiff and obviously nervous.
"WOOH! ANAK KO YAN! GO, TRISTAN!" Vice yelled proudly while clapping his hands. Napangiti naman si Tristan. Vice did a thumbs up and Tristan mirrored his gesture.
During their performance, Karylle was smiling the whole time while taking pictures while Vice was sitting quietly, getting teary-eyed. When it was Tristan's solo, napa-aww ang dalawa when they heard Tristan's tiny singing voice. Karylle was getting teary-eyed as well, she was so proud of him. Both Vice and Karylle were smiling from ear to ear, proud na proud sila sa anak nila.
