My son recently has been going through the imaginary friend phase. This is normal for countless of toddlers. Tommy is always telling me stories a about his imaginary friend, Fred. "Mommy, Fred says he wants you to make dinner for us both to eat"

"'Mommy, Fred says he wants you to buy two of every toy for us both to play with"

Then it starts to get weird

"Mommy, Fred says if I don't do what he says, he'll hurt you."

I think it's time to break it to him, it's just his vivid imagination. I told him he could be a writer some day!

"No really mommy" tommy exclaimed. "He hides when you come in the room, and comes back out when you're gone"

I kissed him on his head. I switched on the tv for him and shut his door.

At about midnight, I decided to go check up on him.

I opened his door and surprised to find him at his little desk coloring.

"What are you drawing sweetie?" I asked

He stayed silent. I glanced over him and saw a drawing of my room, and me in my bed, and on the one side of my bed, stood a dark shadow figure.
