3:54 pm - Riggs & Val Vista Intersection

I sit groggy and torn up on my tan leather seat in my now crushed blue-grey sedan bleeding heavily in some places and barely in others.

I remember my girlfriend, Sarah and look over. The pain in my neck almost keeps me from doing so, but I manage.

I shouldn't have looked because what I saw, I will never be able to unsee.

The most beautiful girl in my life was not moving. Sarah's frail body lies on the hood of my car, glass penetrated into her skin, thick crimson fluid draining from cuts littered all over her pale and fragile body.

"Sarah?!" A stray tear runs down my face as my foreign voice escapes through my lips in horror.

I try getting up out of the car, to run to her, the broken love of my life, but I can't. My legs will not move. I spot my phone open to a text on the floor, the glass screen cracked.

A strangled cry erupts from my throat as more tears run freely down my face.

The driver in the other car, hangs limp against the seat. Her blood splattered against the window, and she doesn't move either.

I hear a baby cry from the other car. The mournful cry reaches my ears.

"HELP! PLEASE! Someone? Anyone?" I cry whispering the last two words hoping someone will hear our cries for help.

I start to black out hearing voices become distant and foggy as I try to remember what happened before this point.

3:47 pm - Basha High School Exit

"Chris! Stop! Just give me your phone so you can drive. I'll text her for you!" Sarah demands.

"No." Chris smiles mischievously his eyes glancing to his girlfriend.

"Seriously, Chris!" Sarah cries as her boyfriend almost crashed into a pole.

"Give me your phone!" Chris looks at Sarah and sighs.

"Fine, here. I'm sorry." Chris hands Sarah his phone. The brunette smiles happily.

"Thank you" Sarah sings in her melodic voice. Chris intertwines his fingers with Sarah's and kisses the top of her hand before returning his full attention back to the road.

However, this moment of peace only lasted a minute.

DING!

Chris dropped his gaze to open the text.

"CHRIS!" Sarah's voice screamed as a another car barreled right for them plunging Chris's head into the glass blurring his vision and plunges him to darkness, launching Sarah from the front seat of the car.

It was 3:50 pm.

Three Hours Later

I woke up in a hospital room white sheets and walls blinding me. I try to lift myself up and out of the bed but I can't move my legs. I look at the paper on the clipboard next to my bed to only stare in disbelief and shock.

I am paralyzed from the waist down.

"Hello Mr. Necker, how are you feeling?" A nurse dressed in uniform looks at me with the same brunette hair and chocolate eyes like Sarah's.

A big wave of emotion washes over me. I start to gasp for air not able to breathe. I am not aware of the staff trying to help me get air back into my lungs.

I feel a sharp pain in my chest and start feeling super tired. My once clear vision starts to turn white at the corners.

'I'm sorry Sarah. I love you.' I think. The heart monitor ends in one long, monotonous beep as I slowly slip away.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.
