The Doctor and Rose had recently been spending their down time in the library, it was calm and peaceful, perfect if you had spent the day running for your life.

Sometimes the Doctor read aloud in words that Rose couldnt understand, but she knew it was Gallifreyan. She knew how the Doctor felt about his planet and how he rarely talked about it so she was surprised when the Doctor asked if she would like to learn some of it when they settled into the library that night.

They spent an hour learning how to write "Rose Tyler" and "Doctor" and "adventures", soon enough Rose could form a simple sentence - "My name is Rose Tyler" and was able to recognise a few simple words.

It was safe to say that Rose was very pleased with herself and the Doctor was beaming at her enthusiasm. He'd never wanted to teach anyone else his language... No body except Rose, and even if he didn't want to admit it, he knew why.

The Doctor had landed the TARDIS on a mechanical supplies planet, he had needed to pick up a few extra parts for the TARDIS.

Rose was left back on board the TARDIS, the Doctor insisted that she didn't need to go as she would find it boring.

Reluctanty, she waved the Doctor goodbye as he headed out the door.

"What to do, what to do...." , Rose sighed out loud, she was bored without the Doctor.

"I know! Music!", Rose exclaimed, perking up, she hadn't really listened to music for ages, there was too much of the universe to see.

She ran to the console room and stood in front of the control panel, preparing to try and work out how to play music off of it.

That was when she saw it, recognised the familiar symbol of the unfamiliar language. A yellow sticky note written in Gallifreyan. Sure, she'd noticed the sticky notes before but she had never been able to read them.

All she could make out was:

Hurry up and ..... Rose......

Rose pondered a minute, trying to work out what it meant but simply couldn't recognise any of the other symbols... Especially a very complex one- it had 4 circles that spiralled into each other towards the bottom of the larger, encompasing circle and a strange pattern drawn from the top, swirling down outside the larger circle.

(A/N there is a picture of it at the start of the chapter)

It was simply perplexing but Rose gave up trying to work it out, figuring she would ask the Doctor when he returned.

The Doctor returned to TARDIS to see Rose dancing around the control room to a 90's pop song. He couldn't help but laugh and stare in awe at how adorable she was.

'My Rose Tyler', he thought to himself before being quickly spun around the control room by Rose, both of them laughing uncontrollably.

The song ended and the pair collapsed on the jump seats, wheezing for air. The both turned their necks to look at each other, their cheeks till red from exertion and excitement.

Something in the Doctor's eyes changed, from excited and exhilarating to a loving gaze, but of course, Rose didn't notice.

He reached his hand out to cup her cheek and Rose leaned into his touch.

'Wait, what am I doing?! I said I wouldn't lose control!' , the Doctor scolded himself and quickly moved his hand down to Rose's hand, linking their fingers and pulling her up from the seat... Unfortunately that didn't quite go to plan since the Doctor didn't move back and Rose ended up being inches apart from the Doctor.

He hadn't realised what he had done at first but soon cleared his throat before reluctantly stepping away and moving towards the console.

"Where to next, Rose Tyler?", the Doctor questioned, a grin plastered on his face as she looked over his shoulder.

"Hmm well, I wanted to ask you something first", Rose said as she walked over to the monitor screen with the sticky notes.

"uh, okay", The Doctor answered and stood next to Rose... Just a bit too close for 'friends'.

"I was tryna figure out how to put music on before and I noticed this sticky note", Rose spoke pointing at the circular Gallifreyan. "all I can make out is 'hurry up and... Rose...'

The Doctor gulped, he knew exactly what it said, but he couldn't work out 2 things.

1. Why the hell had he left this out after teaching Rose Gallifreyan?!!

2. How would Rose react to hearing what that sticky note said... Would she even want to hear that.

"Doctor?", Rose brought his attention back to her, it was now or never.

The Doctor took a deep breath, looked up into Rose's eyes and all of a sudden blurted out,

"it says hurry up and tell Rose you love her"

Rose was shocked but in an amazingly, ecstatic way. Here she was thinking all this time that the Doctor didn't share the same feelings as her and yet he had just professed his love to her.

'he loves me'

And without a second though, Rose pressed her lips to the Doctor's, wrapping her hands around his neck and diminishing the space between them.

The Doctor pulled Rose closer, gripping to her waist, hungrily taking her in.

In that moment, they both had the same thought

'finally '
