Sebastian was confused. Fire with fire? What was that supposed to mean? And why did his smirk disappear so fast?

The elevator continued down for a couple of long minutes. After a while, it fo opened to a breathtaking room. This room was grey in every corner of an inch. There were a few workbenches, a few cheap office walls, with papers and items on them. The ceiling was high up and the atmosphere was dark.

"Woah.", Sebastian stated in amazement. "How did you get this?"

"Your father wasn't the only one who got his own hideout", Sal said as he patted the wall to his left as he came out, putting Sebastians stuff down lightly. "Years back, him and I were the only ones worrying about having emergency hideouts. Of course though, I didn't have my magic at the time and he did."

"How were you two able to dig something like this so far underground and have it kept secret?" Sebastian asked, completely mesmorized by the whole thing.

"Well, I studied in construction and whatever else you can come up with for building stuff. Your father, however, didn't. But that didn't mean he couldn't help me. Your father had one thing I didn't. Magic.

"His abilities to almost bend physics was a huge help. I had the designs and mentored him through it, and he did the heavy lifting. If anything went wrong, it was on me. Of course though, we were on a schedule, so we didn't get to finish it. But we were able to get the essentials done.

"Your father was the only other person who knew about this place. With him gone, I needed to find a knew successor to keep information on this place existence. It will eventually save a lot of lives."

Sal put all of Sebastians stuff on a hotel bag carrier and pushed it to the side of the room, and the two walked through to the other side of the room. There was a hallway to their left that was wide and open. The hallway led to many more rooms that Sal got to choose from. They chose the closest one.

"This is where you'll be sleeping for a few days. Make yourself comfortable, but not too comfortable. You won't be staying." Sal dropped off all the stuff, and walked out the room hollering "Grab whatever you want for food. The kitchen is on the complete other side of the room!" He had to yell for the last bit.

Sebastian sat on the floor. No bed, no desk. Just his stuff. Why did this place exist? What did his father need from it?

Sebastian sat back thinking. That man is nice. I can tell he went through a lot. So whatever he expects out of me, I better deliver. He is the only person I know who has any connection to his past.
