Jack would need to have his heart replaced if he wanted to keep on living... It was the hardest thing that he and his best friend Mark would ever have to face with each other. The cancerous tumor had found its way in, and it wasn't planning to go... Just like Jack.Jack would have the surgery, he wasn't going to give up on it, if not for his sake, than for Marks. He loved Mark with everything he had, although he could never tell him that... It was sad really, that just because of his gender he could never show Mark the way he had alwayse truly felt towards him, all because society demmed it disgusting and unnatural... But if he could never tell him of his love, he would show him. Right now, showing him, was surviving this aweful ride...
Jack refused to go into that room without Mark by his side, he wanted him there... He needed him there, so there he would be, watching over him, keeping him safe and alive with only his presence...
As Jack and Mark lye side by side their fingers entwined and they spoke softly.
"Hold on tight Jack. Hold on tight so I know your still here, your still with me."
"I will if you do Mark..."
As the surgery progressed Mark and Jack squeezed at each others hands. It had taken them a while to find a doner... Jack and Mark had descussed how if they couldn't find one soon, Jack would never have the surgery and against everything he wanted, he would die... Mark wasn't going to let that happen though. Mark searched tirelessly to find the one to save his best friend. To keep him alive, until one day out of the blue he found them. He found the one...
Mark felt a tear slip down his face when he felt Jack's grip fault. he had left something for him in Jack's hospital room that he so desperaely wanted him to find... It was something he could never really put into spoken words...
Mark let the tears slide some more as a smile spread across his face when he felt that grip again, and he let his eyes flutter shut... Knowing that Jack would be okay, had finally put him at ease...
Jack awoke in his empty room, Mark, nowhere to be seen... The only thing catching his eye, being a piece of folded paper sitting against his small table... He opened and read Marks note to him... Before letting it slip to the floor in an almost slow-motion dance, along with a tear from Jack.
Jack stared out his window at the gloomy day and let another tear fall... The note... It read...
Dearest Jack,
My love...I give you my love I gave you my soul from the start..
And instead of letting you hurt and die, I finally gave you my heart
~Mark ❤
