Shadows Backwards

Prolouge

I'm a shadow. I can't move unless Emma moves. I'm not free. None of us are free. This is a shadow's life. When it's dark we can talk with other shadows. Plus when it's dark we can move around on our own. Shadows can talk to the person. One good thing is that shadows get to make up their own name. I made mine Amber. Emma's in High School. In school she is a nerd type person and is very shy.

Anyway you are here to help. There is a GIANT problem and I can't fix it alone. In school there is this mean group of kids. Their names are Jake, Rebeka but everyone calls her Reke for some weird reason, Mandy, and this one guy no one knows his real name but everyone calls him DJ. Jake is this super smart guy whose parents totally spoil him, He's 16. Reke is this totally goth girl that steals things, she's 17. Mandy is a punk singer whose 17 also. Last, DJ is a graffiti artist and REALLY strong, he's 18. Reke is cousins with DJ.

Oh I forgot to tell you shadows have mostly the same personality as the people they are shadows for. Most shadows look down on people because we don't have much freedom. However I and my friend Jammy like humans because we are friends with our humans. Another thing you should know is that most shadows try to persuade their humans to do the things that they want. My friend and I don't agree with this.

Back to the big problem. The group of bad kids I told you about their shadows are plain evil. They plan to somehow reverse the shadows and people. Making it to where the shadows roam free and the humans become shadow like. As nice as it would be to roam free in the sun humans should do that, not shadows.

One thing we can do is, we are very persuasive. As one of my new friends I must show you all my other friends. You and I are in a group called Mystery Missions. I know it does sound kinda dumb, but we didn't name it. So the people in this group is a girl named Sam and Jammy and a guy named Rocket. I know it is not a very popular group. Sam is a younger girl who transferred here from Russia. She is tall and thin with a really low pigtails. Rocket is 18 year old geek who gets picked on alot for a fake hand. You know one of those fancy 3-D printed hands. Jammy is almost 17 and is an amazing artist. She likes to read a lot and has reading glasses.I must explain myself or Emma I guess. She has braces and is the clumsiest girl in the world (not exaggerating). She is quite short and has glasses. I write and Jammy likes to draw what I'm writing. We win young authors every year.

The thing we do in this club is "supposed" to be study and do things that involve ghosts. Here is a little secret, we are the only we have met yet that can talk to other shadows. Oh, that may have sounded confusing. I meant that the people in this group are the only ones we have ever met that can talk to other shadows beside their own.

School is pretty okay once you get used to it. Plus our principal is very gullible.
