I was now changing the channels on the tv. I stop when the news is on.

"A man appearing to be Ronald Danzer is rising in the sky but what appears to be...a weather balloon." Says the news reporter.

I throw on my clothes and jump out the window.

---

"Alex." a familiar voice calls out. I turn my head to see Cat running towards me.

"Cat!" I say smiling. I give her a long hug. " I heard about the kidnapping are you okay?"

She shakes her head. " It was nothing. Some cop from G.C.P.D. saved us. Detective Gordon." My ears pipe up at the name. Detective Gordon always there to save the day.

"Well, I'm glad you didn't get hurt," I tell her.

"Yeah, thanks to you. You tipped them off. Of course, they would believe you if you tell them." Cat explains. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Why is it any different if I tell them?" I ask.

Cat chuckles, "Who do you think they would believe, Street Trash," she pointed to herself  "or the queen of Gotham."

I sighed  "You're not street trash Cat." and I'm not the queen of Gotham I wanted to add but, held my tongue.

She shrugs.

"Why nobody cares about me." I wanted to say I did. In this little period of time, I feel as though Cat and I are already friends. Since the kids at school don't like me I don't really talk to them. They judge me based on my money, so right now she is the only person I consider a friend. Before I could get the words out a man called out to Cat.

"Selina Kyle," a man comes up and grabs Cat by the arm. "You are requested at the station." Selina Kyle. So that's her real name. Cat/Selina huffs in annoyance "Alex, come with?" She asks.

"Yeah, sure." I reply as I followed behind them.

We walk into the G.C.P.D. Noise, yelling, and cops everywhere as usual. The man takes us and walks up to Harvey's desk. "Detective Gordon," The man says.

Cat snatches her arm from the mans grasp. "Davis Lamont's from juvenile services, you asked to see Selina Kyle, sign for custody. When you finish bring her to our facility on water street. She to be transferred upstate tomorrow."

"Yeah, that's going to be delayed she has information about an investigation." Detective Gordon replies.

"Would you mind stepping back a bit," Harvey tells Cat. She steps back. "Woah, hold on is that one of the kids that were snatched?" Harvey said with an annoyed sigh. "Another closed case what is it about closed that you don't understand."

"This is something else, just read the letters and track the balloons. I'll be back in an hour." Jim says walking away with Cat.

I pull my hood up and walk out the G.C.P.D.

The next day

Bruce and I are currently standing in my fathers' study. Apparently, Alfred wants to teach us to fight. "Alfred I don't want to do this." Bruce said.

"Me either," I say.

"Come on swat," Alfred says. He pokes Bruce in the chest with the stick. "En garde." We both put our sticks up and hold them against Alfred's. He started to swing back and forth.

"There you go is that all you got." He says. He smacks my stick and it falls out of my hand and on to the ground. I sigh.

"I'm not doing this."

He hits Bruce in the leg and the two of them hits sticks. "There she blows, the eye of the tiger through the wind in your nostrils, Sir Bruce, the blood in his veins." Alfred says. I laugh at his speech.

"What's so funny, huh," He says "You want to be a lady and not fight."

I growl and pick up my stick. Alfred tries to swing but I use it to block my head from his blow. "That's it mind your head." He hits the armor stand behind me as I move out the way.

"I do beg your pardon, sir. I'm most... Oi! Might be the bat, Hyah," he turns to Bruce and they smack sticks form side to side.

"I said stop." Bruce yells. He swings and knocks down the books on the desk along with a couple of papers and files.

"Woah, Woah." Alfred yells. "Down swords. I surrender."

Bruce and I chuckle.

"See a nice sword fight gets your blood up." He walks over to pick up the papers. "Better than reading these dusty old files. What is this anyway? Police file."

He opens it and when I see it my heart drops. Inside were the pictures of mom and dad's bodies. Blood everywhere. "Abut your mom and dad. How'd you get these?" Alfred asks.

"Wasn't hard," Bruce states out of breath.

"Why would you want to look at these they're horrible. They're gonna give you nightmares." Alfred says.

"I-I have those anyway and I'm looking for clues."

"Why are looking for clues Bruce you're not a detective?"

He looks at me "If I find a clue I am."

"Have you found a clue?" Alfred asks. Bruce stays quiet for a while before answering "Not yet."

"Now, Detective Gordan has promised you that he will find the person that kicked your parents. The both of you." He says.

"Do you really believe he will?" Bruce asks.

"He will try. Of that I'm certain."

Dear Diary

I really miss mom and dad. Usually, I would go to mom for some fashion advice when I'm bored, or I would ask dad about the company, but I can't do that anymore because they're gone. I'm pretty sure Alfred doesn't know what goes on, mainly because he here with us. I just feel like ever since they died my life has no meaning. I know they'll watch over me and will always be in my heart. This is why I go out on the streets. So I can find something interesting and do something about it. Maybe life has other plans for me.

I walk into the study after I'm done writing in my diary. I see Bruce sitting in the chair behind the desk. "What are you doing?" I ask.

"Reading the paper." He replies.

Alfred walks in and stands in front of Bruce and I. "Right so no breakfast then and no dinner last night ?" He says. "So what's the new program trying to see how long we can go without eating anything?"

I stare blankly at him while Bruce continues to look at the paper.

"If that's the case, I should save myself the trouble of making it."

Bruce looks up and turns the paper around in our direction "Have you seen this?" He asks us both. The top of the paper reads

Balloonman Kills Dirty Cop

"Oh yeah, that nutter going around offing people with balloons. I can think of an easier way to kill someone." Alfred replies.

Master Bruce, Alex, forgive me for uttering the tired, old words "in times like these" but in times like these you really need to keep your strength up." Alfred tells us.

"I'm just not hungry." Bruce replies. He gets up and walks out of the room.

"What about you then?" Alfred asks.

"I'm sorry Alfred it's gonna take some time getting used to without them," I say. I get up and make my way towards my room.

Sorry guys short chapter. But I'm back, my iPad updated so I had to rewrite all of the chapters. I hoped you guys liked it.

Question: Should I have a cover that has to do with Gotham or just keep it the way it is.
