Pidge crept silently down the now ominous hallways of the castle, not daring to make a noise. The castle was like a maze, each hallway looking identical to the next, all illuminated with an unnatural purple glow.

With the looming fear of being caught flowing deep through Pidge's veins, the Paladin stuck his head around the corner, checking for any unwanted company. Seeing the coast was clear, Pidge, with Rover floating obediently by his side, both took off in a sprint to the large door at the end of the hall.

From what Allura had told him, Pidge would have to damage the castle's power generator in order to disable the particle barrier and keep the castle from taking off.  Though it seemed easy enough, Galran robots were scattered in numbers through the many hallways, blasters ready to fire at any movement.

As Pidge entered the generator room,  and a few of these robots turned toward him.  Within a second, purple beams of energy where flying through the room.

Pidge found himself hiding behind a pillar, rover providing a view of the metallic menaces which Pidge gazed at through his monitor.  Glancing frantically around the room, the Green Paladin spotted the crackling energy the gave the castle life, and an idea formed.

Pidge rolled out from behind the pillar, making a mad dash past the robots and toward the door which he entered from.  Like the killing machines they were, the droids fired at the life form, successfully hitting their target, except that the life form sprinting for the exit wasn't a life form at all.  As the blast made contact, the hologram sizzled out in a crackling sound and a spark of light.  The robots turned to see the real Pidge escaping through the air vent.

Zanya wasn't sure what he was supposed to do in this situation. Sendak wore a triumphant smile as he instructed his second in command Haxsus through the communicator. Lance still hadn't stirred, laying like a corpse on a battlefield. Zanya was unsure if he was alive or not. Shiro was glaring at the ground, deep in thought. Thinking of an escape plan maybe?

There was no escape plan. Zanya had thought of thousands of scenarios and possible actions they could take to ensure that they all made it out of this nightmare. All had proved to be unsuccessful. Coming to terms with their inevitable defeat and possible death is what he should be worrying about right now.

Just then, a loud scream was heard from the communicator, and Sendak's smile turned into a frown.

"Haxsus, report," the general growled, his fangs showing as he bared his teeth. There was no reply.

"Haxsus, what's going on?" Sendak was panicking from what Zanya could tell.

Static was what Sendak was met with, but through the haze the sounds of clashing metal and shouts could be vaguely heard.  Finally, a scream, and then a voice rang through the room.

"Haxsus is gone, and your next!" Pidge's voice rang in Zanya's ears.  Maybe there was still a way to win.

Sendak growled, turning away from the communicator and toward Shiro, who had lifted up his head in surprise at the sound of Pidge's voice.  Sendak's cybernetic arm lit up with purple energy, flowing like veins from his shoulder to the tips of his fingers.

"You may think you have won, " the Galra sneered at Pidge while his eyes met Shiro's, "but maybe your leader will change your view on the matter."  Zanya knew what was happening as Sendak raised his arm above Shiro's weak form, and the Prince mustered up the last of his strength to stand and charge at the general.

Before Zanya could even reach Sendak, he was grabbed from behind by two robots, their iron grip keeping him from the black paladin.  Three voices rang through the room at once, one of Shiro, who was screaming as he was electrocuted mercilessly, one of Sendak, laughing like the maniac he was, and one of Zanya, yelling for the general to stop.

Pidge's voice was silent, but they all knew he was listening from the other end of the communicator.  Even through with he muddled mind and persistent screaming, Zanya could tell that Pidge was at a loss of what he should do.

A thump was heard as Shiro's weak form collided with the cold ground, his voice finally leaving him.  Watching the other lay silently on the floor, a yowl of utter rage was ripped from the Prince's mouth.  The robots struggled to keep Zanya contained in their grasp, their metal feet scraping the ground as the Altean pulled forward toward Sendak.

Sendak's satisfied smirk, hiding the madman beneath was what made Zanya's vision turn red.  He grinned, slightly amused at the Prince's struggles, laughing when the male could not break free of the grasp of the robots.  Turning away from the seething Prince, the Galra spoke with a voice lathered in confidence to Pidge, who still had yet to speak.

"Now that I have made an example out of your leader, know that I will soon do the same to your friends," Sendak's grin grew wider as he spoke, "if you do not surrender to me within the next few minutes you may consider all of your friends to be deceased."

The line was silent, only static was heard through the room.  Pidge was thinking.  Zanya could sense the cogs turning from the short human's brain as he thought of a way around his imminent surrender.  Zanya held his breath, abandoning his previous attempts at escape to listen to Pidge's reply.

All that was heard through the cackling static was footsteps, growing quieter and quieter as Pidge ran away from the communicator.
