While I was growing up, I had to learn about both countries, their royal families and their history. They were so different yet so similar. They all adapted to their region and fought for their right to live in it. They created alliances and broke them. But to the everlasting annoyance of my teacher that was not the stories I loved. The one I loved the most was the one thing that united us all: The Legend of the Moon Dragon.
They say that at the beginning the earth was barren and unlivable. No living being could be found. One of the moon dragons is said to have descended on to the earth and started to create the world as we know it with its deserts, forests, jungles, plains, mountains, etc. He also made in the effort to make the world lively, living beings. Because such wasted and deserted land saddened him. After his work was done he was exhausted. He fell out of the sky onto the land he remade. The impact created a crater which filled with water over time and made a gigantic lake now named Moon Dragon Lake. It is said that he will sleep forever because content, with his work and life. He wanted to live as part of the earth which he made and stay close to his creation.
Sadly we very rarely learned about that. Instead, I learned all about politics, manners and apparently to hate “those filthy man-beast” as she so kindly calls them. I also learn about those dark days before my birth. It’s called the revolt by one side and the uprising from the other. How this revolt divided the country in two and now we each have one, Ashwood and Sumitze, to the everlasting shame and anger from my country and called themselves the Morphs. My birth father was part of an under-ground group who helped them be free. But few know this, and it probably was the reason for his premature death.
My father was assassinated by his brother who is now king. He was awarded the throne for the murder of a good king. He was dead before I was born and my mom followed him soon after while giving birth to me and my sister. King Eric the 2nd then married a Queen with equal ambition and elitist Kala the 4th of the ever so influential family, the Skolov.
My eldest brother, Eric the 3rd, is supposed to take the throne as the oldest but Kala wants her son Thomas to take the throne even though he is a snobbish brat and the youngest of us siblings. Kala has already brought to here side half of my siblings trying to manipulate them while there still young. Only under the protection of Akela her younger brother were Jedidiah, Jocelyn and I spared from the brainwashing. Though he disappeared a few years ago when Jocelyn (or Joe as I call her) and I were eight years old. With him gone none of the adults were kind to us and they influenced their children greatly to hate us.
You would think that with all that hate I grew up oddly. Well no... Not really... Not that much... Well I do have a tendency to space out and listen to my own thoughts. So, I might look a little odd to my family but then again, they hate me, so who cares ? My twin and nearly my only friend Jocelyn. And only because it means that I listen to her less.
