"Wake up. Unless you want to be late."
Annie. Well- at least she actually woke me this time.
"Alright. I'll be up in a minute." My tone wasn't harsh, nor soft.
I heard her exit the room, and I quickly changed into the standard cadet uniform. Rooming with Annie was... decent. She was silent most of her time, giving me more time to think.
And calculate.I brushed my dark locks from my face, tying them back into a tight ponytail- before briskly exiting my room.
The sound of boots echoing off of the patterned floor caught my attention. My boots. I shifted my weight around onto my toes, the sound quieting to a soft click.

I sat alone at a table in the hall, all the other cadets mingling and chatting. Though, I couldn't care less about their stupid conversations.
"I heard it's hand went over the wall!"
"Eren- is it true?!"
"Mostly, yes. But, once we finish up all our training.. it'll be nothing! We'll extinguish every single one of those beasts that walk outside the walls!"
Okay. I couldn't care less about most of them.I let my spoon dangle loosely between my delicate fingers, gazing boringly inwards at the mush they call soup- my ears completely straining to catch the rest of their conversation.
Eren ambled on about killing the titans, and the way he spoke about it.. was- almost creepy in a way.
"Hey, mind if I sit here?" I turned around, and there stood a tall, freckle faced guy, with some stupid dorky smile plastering his face, and soft posture- completing the perfect innocent and happy aura.
I didn't respond, just glared at him. Besides, I wasn't here to make friends. This is the 104th training corps. I need to do well here. I plan on choosing the scouts, then build on from there.
Thud* Freckle's tall frame plopped Down across from me. How stubborn.
"So, My name's Marco, and I plan on joining the Military Police- to serve for the king!"
For a second, I thought maybe he could somehow be good. I was wrong. Unless, he's jus so stupid and naive. No one's good. Not here. And not there.
A loud voice reverted my attention. "The military police are far better than the stupid Survey Corps." Sneered a tall boy, standing only inches away from Eren.
"So what- you don't think what happened five years ago won't happen again?! What if it does! Being a dumb MP isn't going to help you!" Then again. He also has a point. But, what is his motive. Why would he want to join the scouts?
"... -Horseface, you wouldn't know anything about being a hero! But it doesn't matter- I'll kill them! Every last one!" Eren shouted. His teal eyes were filled with rage, and anger.
These idiots. They're never going to be able to kill every Titan. It's impossible. But- I'm not like them. I don't think I'm a fool.
At least, not in the way they are."Serve for the king, huh." I stood up, my empty tray balanced carefully between both my arms. "Sounds.. interesting." With that said, I walked quickly back to my room, everyone else still shouting and bustling about.
~~
I locked my door, then sat at the cruddy wooden desk that each room has been given.
I pulled out my small, black leather book. It was the only thing left I had of home.
It's different. Here. I need to get back out into fresh air, which is why I intend to join the scouting regiment.
Now all's that's left, is to incorporate this into my plan.
How I'm going to do it? I honestly only have a small platform for that.
I pulled a small photograph from in between one of the pages. It was the four of us.
That Eren kid. He looks so much like him.. but- that can't possibly be true. It doesn't even make sense.
I carefully folded the paper back into a small square, sliding it effortlessly back between the pages. They were smiling in that picture. We weren't. They didn't seem to care about any of that.
Sigh* I knew I had to leave soon for training. We were going to do balancing practise for using the maneuvering gear. Something I was quite interested in learning about. I only set eyes on it once- and, it wasn't a good sight.
I reached carefully between the pages once more, snatching the end of a colourful feather between my fingers.
Placing it gently on my desk, I studied it, letting my fingers brush over the ridge of the feather strands. It was so soft.
I took one last look at the lustrous feather, before tucking it inside my leather book- which I closed inside one of the shabby drawers.
Time to try out that gear. I'm sure he'd be fascinated by it. All of it really.
Which means I have to live to show it to him someday.A.N
Okay, so- I tried not to give everything away- or rush things too much, so hopefully you guys like it so far. I think it's almost obvious as to where she came from, especially if you read the manga.
Soooooo what'd you think so far? I'll probably update once or twice a week- but that aside, IT'S HALLOWEEN THIS WEEK!!! YEAH!!!
