All he saw around him was fire.Streaks of red and orange raising and spreading across the labratory floor,going closer towards him as if it were a tidal wave,rushing fowards until it reached its destination.Everyone knew what became of places hit by tsunamis,not many of those people had felt the terror of being there when the wave struck.No one wanted to be there when it happened.He stood there,shook and terrified of the flames surrounding him,forced to watch his lifes work of technolgy be reduced to rubble at the hands of a terrifying force of nature.Was this the punishment for everything he had done wrong in his life?So what if a few people were hurt.So what if some of the goverments overflow of money was taken.So what if the concept was labeled "inhumane",none of it would matter if he could get everything to work.If he could finish this project,the world would never be the same.He would be praised as a saviour,walking in rooms lined with gold and meeting people as influental as he would be,a win-win situation for everybody.
His thoughts were forced out of his mind when a portion of the ceiling gave out and landed beside him.None of his fantasies would ever come true now,all of his hard work and suffering will have been for nothing.He would die among the charred remains of his lifes work as everything he had ever known was overtaken by the sea of fire.What's worse,none of his work would ever be discovered.There would be no one to continue his legacy,nothing to be fixed or repaired,no idea to lead them one.Project Destiny will now finally and truthfully come to its end.It was a sad thought,but it was strangley calming in the midst of the raging fire.
The test subject he thought.Where had it gone?Had it already been destroyed in the fire like he eventually would?There was no way at this point in time for it to be able to escape from the hazard,and even then,it would need to first escape from the holding cell that was used to contain it.He realized all too soon that the test subject had been taken by the only other person in the facillity with morality.The last thing he ever saw was Dr.Chasen running away from the blazing inferno that was the lab,clutching the test subject in both arms and escaping into the night.Then the fire had consumed him,and Doctor ******* was no more.
