Ella's P.O.V
I woke up, my cheeks red and tear stained. I was expecting it. Every night that number texted me at the same time. 2:15 AM.
Anon #: You looked perfect today, angel
It was driving me crazy not telling Jack. I needed to. I got up, rinsing my face, and walking anxiously up and down the hall way. "Baby, Ella? What are you doing up?" Jack groggily greeted me in the hall. "W-we need to talk" I led him back to the bed. I told him everything from the first night to the last two months. That every night they texted me some weird or violating message. I knew he was angry but too concerned with me to let that get to him.
"We can have Nate trace the number Ell" He rubbed my back soothingly. "I know.. I didn't want it to be a big deal" I sighed. "Well it is, we'll figure it out tomorrow okay?" He kissed my head and we both laid down. Him knowing made me feel a bit better.
The next morning we went right over to Tasha and Nate's. "So? What's the verdict?" I said anxiously as I bounced Natalia on my knee. "This has never happened before" Nate muttered to his key board and continued typing. "What? Whats wrong?" Jack hovers behind him. "The number can't be tracked" Nate said with irritation, but not at Jack. "How's that possible?" I squinted at the screen. "The whole phone is programmed differently than any other" Nate shook his head in disbelief.
"That means whoever is doing this.. I don't know, they know what they're doing and they're doing it really well" Nate added. Jack and I exchanged glances. "We'll get you a new phone" Jack finally said. "That won't stop this person" Nate genuinely seemed concerned, which scares me further. If Nate knows its bad, its bad. "Wait they texted me" I panicked as I looked down at my phone. "What's it say?" Jack's eyebrows knitted together.
Anon #: Told on me now? I'm hurt princess
My heart was beating hard and fast. They're listening. "I'm gonna call Sam and J. Were figuring this out tonight" Nate got up. "You know what to do Ell, take Tasha and the kids" Jack kissed me quickly. And I did know what to do. Jack and I had talked about this a long time ago. In case of an emergency I take the underground tunnels to another house in Nevada, its registered under his mother's father's name so no one would think of it.
"Tasha we gotta go" I said as calmly as I could. She knew not to ask questions but to let me have control. This may seem dramatic but you have to realize, phycotic gang members + fueds = not safe. And the boys knew this had to be one of those members. As we were leaving Sam and J came. "Be safe" Sam hugged Natasha and I and J just said "We gonna kick some ass, see ya soon".
When we got to the house I locked the house up as quickly as I could, ushering Tasha, who was holding Talia, and Alex down the closet steps to the underground garage. I shiftily took a look down the tunnel. No going back. We got into a car and sped off. The tunnels obviously took much less time. Which meant less time focusing on driving and more time hoping Jack and the boys were okay.
So in about two and a half hours of Alex complaing and Natalia crying we arrived at the house. The tunnels all went through to different house that Jack owned. Starting in LA to Henderson, Nevada all the way to New York. About seven different houses. I recently found out that each house was rented out, but the tenants each had to sign a contract that if Jack called and asked them to leave they had to within an hour, no questions asked. And they all agreed.
The house was left a mess and I couldn't even blame them. You knew kids lived there by the sippy cups on the floor and random toys scattered on every one of the stairs. "Mommy, why are we here?" Alex asked curiously. "Dad is doing some work so he needs us to stay here for a bit." Tasha smiled all motherly. "Oh okay" He nodded and looked around. Natalia was passed out so we laid her on the couch and both sat anxiously, watching Alex play with another kids legos. "They'll be okay" Tasha mumbled.
About four hours of pure torture Jack called. "Hi baby, we're all safe" He said, tiredly. "Thank god" I sighed and so did Tasha, who was feeding Talia. "We called in David and the others. It's over now" Jack said. And it was over, for awhile. "See you soon, I love you" I grabbed Alex and motioned Tasha we were leaving. "I love you too babe" He replied. God, if I knew.
I ran inside as soon as we got to the house, Jack, Sam, Nate, Johnson, and the new partners were there. I felt the weight lift off my chest as I saw them and ran to hug Jack. He squeezed me tight. "Okay baby, okay. You worry too much" He chuckled and kissed me before pulling away. "Ell this is David and Cade" He motioned to the two men standing in my living room. "They were a huge help tonight" He nodded. "Nice to meet you guys" I fakely smiled, like one does when meeting someone "new". David raised an eyebrow as to say 'not so much of a meeting' and I ignored it, looking back to see Nate hugging Alex and holding a rather happy Talia.
"So this is your fiance?" David asked, reffering to me. "I hope so. Babe, we still getting married?" Jack turned toward me. "Um, I don't know. Might not be my best buisness move right now" I smiled sarcastically and he laughed. "Ya know, I've met Ella before" David mentioned. "You have?" Jack automatically seemed worried. I tilted my head and tried to look confused. "Yep, I sent her drinks at a club once" He chuckled. Jack seemed to take that as a clue to be protective and wrapped his arm around my waist. "Must've been pretty fucked up then, I really don't remember, sorry" I leaned into Jack.
"Just a fun fact, it was a long time ago" David shrugged. "Hm, yeah" Jack stiffened up. "Well, see you later guys. We're heading out." Cade spoke up and they were gone. "That was weird as hell" Tasha said as soon as they had left. We agreed but brushed it off, again.
Jack's family only stayed a few more days but would be back for the wedding of course. We usually just got dinner with them and talked about this past year, the movie and everything else. "I love em, but fuck I'm glad I live here" Jack chuckles as they board their plane, us waving and smiling.
